Vacamion Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 It's gonna be just like the close season in here. Awful. LET THE NAVEL GAZING BEGIN In anticipation of the topics that will be unleashed in here and in General Chat, and bearing in mind my fear of a Lord Of The Flies style breakdown in civility in here and everywhere, my first few anticipated new threads: POLL - Who will be the 1st City player to go trans? Toilet Roll Shortage - Handy Household Alternatives . Celebrity Corona Death List If you had to fist fight a Foxestalk poster, whom would you pick? Let's go, Foxestalk....
Tuna Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 Of course we also have the unwanted distinction of participating in the last premier league fixture to be played before the coronavirus suspension.

Blanchflower78 Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 All common sense stuff - finally. We dont even know if 4th April well resume, if uk in lockdown phase then certainly not. Also, how do players mentally get up for a huge break in season to start again - all very testing times but given the choice completely sensible.

The 2020 FA Cup Final doesn’t have to be played in May, they could play it on Christmas Day if they have to. People are talking like football is going to end forever. Season start/end dates can obviously be moved for situations like this. Because money talks and there's a lot less invested in that competition. You may well be right we'll just have to wait and see.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 I wonder if clubs will still train? I see the players were in this morning.
TeamRocket Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 Summer break, winter break and now almost spring break
fazzyfox Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 There were two home Saturday 3 O'Clock kick off's coming up fairly soon (Palace & Sheff Utd), knew it was too good to be true!

Some people start by moaning about the government or PM's response. I think now is not the time to try to score cheap points and our focus remains solely on the situation. So if you are concerned about how the Government is dealing with the outbreak of a virus, you should just shut up and crack on and not voice your concerns? Absolute bullshit.

bmt Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 I'm so glad they did this before the weekend. I think allowing Atletico to bring fans to Liverpool this week was a huge mistake, and if they won the league on Monday the streets would be swarmed on Tuesday just as those who caught it from the Spanish were starting to show symptoms (coughing etc). Have a strong suspicion Liverpool is going to be hit hard next week and this would have turned it into our Milan.

Australian Rugby league is playing this weekend, but then the gvt is banning groups of more than 500 people from MONDAY Same with the Old firm game. Apparently it's ok for 60,000 people to cram into a football stadium on Sunday but as of monday, no gatherings of over 500 people.
tylesta Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 Don't think they can just let the league stand as it is to much to play for still of its canceled they will have to cancel the whole season surely?
ozleicester Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 Its all part of the conspiracy to end "real football" and turn it into computer games... first VAR.. now COV

Rusko187 Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 Scary times, never thought I'd see anything like this... strangely it's almost unthinkable they will cancel the season, but on the other hand it's also quite likely that it will get cancelled.

String fellow Posted 13 March 2020 Posted 13 March 2020 The last time this happened was on 8th. September 1939. Hopefully, it'll make the CV deniers take it a bit more seriously.
