Formerly a thorn in our side has passed away.

Thoughts with his family, no mention of the cause as of yet.

I think he fell and injured himself from what I'd seen.

Was a really good player at championship level, as you say somebody that always caused us problems.

Really sad.

A proper, proper wand of a left foot. RIP.

He was always good for a goal against us. I remember he scored an absolute peach of a free kick to Chris Weale's near post, he was clutching thin air.

Used to regularly rinse us in our Championship era, absolutely quality player at that level.

Only from down the road in Nuneaton as well. Rest in peace and condolences to his wife and unborn child :(

Really horrible news, fell down the stairs? Just nasty that is. He was as devastating a player in the Championship as there ever has been IMO, for a few years he was just a beast to come up against, absolute bull hammer of a left foot.

Wasn't he the guy who moved the ball by about a yard side ways at a free kick against Leicester in which he scored?

Yeah. I was going mental at the ref for letting him move it 10 yards before he even kicked it, and then he stuck it in off the post.

Can anyone find the highlights from that game?

I heard a few days ago he had died after falling down the stairs, read yesterday he was actually in intensive care but not any more it seems

So sad. Good player, used to sign him on football manager when we used to be pretty shit, always good value.

Fell over in a pub and hit his head, according to the BBC.

35 is young, was he still playing anywhere?

Finished up in 2018 with Blackburn.

No highlights but it’s the last goal in this video:
