His genius was recognising what we had and ironically not tinkering with what became a winning formula towards the end of the 2014/15 season.

Ranieri seems like he would have been a great motivator which was vital for team spirit. Gaffs like a pizza for a clean sheet, calling the media sharks and dilly ding dilly dong may have just been tounge and cheek but I think his personality would have contributed to great team morale that season, which is also needed in addition to momentum and tactical awareness.

Without Shakey he would have been lost!

It was the perfect fit for a season. A great season. Never did we think we'd see what we did.

I hate that people try and lower it by saying others didn't turn up, lets not forget Chelsea were reigning Champions that season with the same squad as the year before and Manchester City were only 3 points behind us going into the game at the Etihad.

Don't get the "miracle" thing so much as the media play it out, including Lineker. We were in red hot form going in to that season. We had some massive talent in the squad also.

Personally think we'd have been relegated if we hadn't - love the man but his head and his body (physically) was too elsewhere.

I love Ranieri but theirs no doubt in my mind that if we had continued with him we would've gone down.

He went at the right time considering the form we was in. Just a shame he couldn't of left the club on his own terms.

Given the money involved in the game, how much Manchester City/Chelsea spend, the fact that the top 4 are clearly head and shoulders above everyone else I think it was a miracle.

We would have gone down, I have no doubts about it. He looked incapable of changing it. Going to Millwall and losing was the final straw for me personally, shit day and they weren't even in the top 10 of League One at that time.

Seriously @LinekersLugs ?? As @Swan Lesta and @lee7 have said, we were in serious danger of relegation if Ranieri stayed.

If he takes the plaudits for 15/16 then he takes the brickbats for 16/17.

He seriously lost the plot that second season.

As painful as it was, sacking Ranieri was 100% the right decision.

It's sad it ended how it did but Ranieri brought so much on himself.

He changed everything in that second season and it backfired badly... too much at once.

We were absolutely shite. Dressing room was gone, we were nailed on for relegation, It was a massive big and brave decision for us to sack him, and defo the RIGHT one

It really pisses me of how people think, because little old leicester won the league we deserve to be relegated with the manger that won it with us, out of some sort of respect for the manager and what he did, that is utter bullshit, we are a  business yes we had a miracle, but lets not forget how much the foundation’s where set 6 months before!!! You would never get a pundit appalled by a top 4 club manager getting sacked after a terrible start after winning the league the season before, but what is a bit odd on all this actually city fans themselves thinking it was not the right decision, from the games i went we were nailed on relegation, for sure

He realised we had to evolve as a side but probably changed our style too quickly and upset a few people. Teams sat deeper to deal with our counter attacking, we needed to move on. Also lost Kante who was irreplaceable at that stage.

Puel also  upset more than a few by carrying on this change of style ...slow ponderous possession based football..BR has reaped the benefit of this Maddison ,Thielemans   & Ricardo making  use of this possession and we are now 3rd in the league . We have also replaced Kante with Ndidi..Doesnt stop some from criticising this style though when they see the likes of Chilwell passing it sideways.
