I wonder how long it'll be before we start hearing the excuse, 'But I've been vaccinated' from folk attending parties, weddings and so on?

Hopefully in about 3 months.

These questions asking if we should have more strict lockdown rules, what more could we possibly do and who is going to pay for it? There's going to be uproar in March when the new budget is announced with tax rises:cry:

Yes there will be because it would be an absolutely ****ing moronic thing to do.

And it also makes no sense to frame it in terms of who is going to pay for it. This framing for the last 10 months has ensured the economy has done worse that it needed and the fiscal cost has been greater.

Boris seemed to suggest that the mid feb target was still doable.

But Whitty and the other guy said the new variant was more fatal. Can't get out and about even if you've had the jab because you're still a potential super spreader.

Basically, the virus has ****ed the world economy, not just ours.

Saw that the other day, all speculation of course, but will be interesting to see in a few weeks.

https://covid-vaccine-stats.uk/

1 in 13 people in the UK have currently had at least one dose of vaccine (Obviously this includes children who won't be given a vaccine though).

It’s 10% of adult population, Boris stated it at one point. ( about 15M are under 18).

Why didn't all of the estimated 150 people, that attended the Jewish wedding in London, all get fined - instead of just 4/5?

Then all of the fines should've gone towards the NHS.

Around 150 people now apparently; not 400 as originally claimed.

Whilst hilarious it's not going to do much for the rampant anti semitism that's going about.

No, but hopefully most people can understand that a minority within the (small) orthodox community is not representative of the wider Jewish community. Israel has its own problems with some Orthodox Jews not following their lockdown.

Exactly. I think the fact that the Jewish community - and lots of people find the distinction between orthodox or not - are so obviously ignoring it really will stoke some flames.

Think the local rabbi needs a bit of a word in the ear.

And some people on here say you can't put any blame on the public for the amount of deaths we've had.

This pandemic in this country has clearly been perpetuated by many things. And the actions of members of the public is absolutely one of them.

Spot on. But it's not a popular thing to say.

"Yeah but Cummings went for a drive nine months ago blah blah" and they use that as an excuse to hide behind.

Not enough personal responsibility taken by the public.

Easier to blame others in life.
