Popular Post StriderHiryu Posted 18 August 2020 Popular Post Posted 18 August 2020 Tagliafico would be like having two Ricardo's in the team. Chilwell has potential, Tagliafico is doing it consistently week-in and week-out already. The only reason I can think of that Chelsea aren't signing him instead is because he's not a long term solution and is quite a bit older than the rest of their squad. For us, I'd actually argue his age is perfect and the experience he would provide would be invaluable. I think he'd become a smash hit here! 24 1

If Chelsea were serious about Tagliafico, I personally think it'd have happened already. They set off pretty early to acquire players, so this tells me that Chilly is their No. 1 target, and fits their bill both prospectively and whatever homegrown quota they are working towards managing. Until we've crossed the white line of signing a new LB, Chilwell won't be going anywhere. Despite the optimistic theory that we might be getting another LB, sending out Thomas, and keeping Chilwell for another year, we'd be mad to not take a phat wedge and supplement the rest of the team going into Europe. 5

They've also signed Werner and Ziyech (and possibly Havertz) so can't continue to sign foreign players. They already signed Ziyech from Ajax and though he's better than Tagliafico, I'd use that signing as an argument to say that this player could also cut it in the Premier League. Honestly as much as I like Chilwell and would be sad to see a player that came through the academy go, if this happened we'd get a player that would improve our team right away and have further money to invest in the team. Can you imagine having this guy AND Ricardo in the same team!? Good lord... 4

bmt Posted 18 August 2020 Posted 18 August 2020 Do we really have the pull to be competing with Champions League teams? Have a feeling if we had made it into the top 4 signings like this and Trincao may have been possible, but don't think they will be now.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 August 2020 Posted 18 August 2020 If we'd made the Gazprom I'd be relatively confident of this, might need a little more selling now but we're still a draw, shouldn't do ourselves down chaps. 1
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 18 August 2020 Posted 18 August 2020 Yeah I'd be happy with this, although it's so difficult to judge a player from the Eredivisie sometimes
PrecociousFox93 Posted 18 August 2020 Posted 18 August 2020 Be very happy with this. Perfect age for Luke Thomas to be breaking through once he’s been here a few years and has european experience too. GERRIMIN
Feed The Yak!! Posted 18 August 2020 Posted 18 August 2020 Would love this. Unfortunately Calciomercato is Tancredi Palmeri's site and the general consensus is that he's highly unreliable. 2

He’s ok from what I’ve seen, but South American football expert Tim Vickery doesn’t seem to think he’s any better than Chilwell... Good going forward, not convincing defensively

So any of their players are available at a price.
