Seagrave Training Centre - Construction updates 2

Recommended Posts

Just looks like, from those pictures, the external areas only require tarmac and paving put on them. That won't take weeks, surely?

Is it going to be 100% finished in all areas before it gets 'officially' opened or will it still resemble some kind of building site even though the main buildings/areas will be completed?

Suspect the latter - the indoor pitch doesn’t need to be ready for pre season and as long as the gyms, pitches, players eating area and other tech stuff for analysis is ready and workable, I expect we will go there ..... would be so good for morale ...

Would be interesting to see how the inside fit is going, looking at the outside I can't see any of it being ready for pre season, looks like there is so much paving, landscaping, tree planting to be done. Can't even see the water feature? Plus the indoor pitch still has no pitch!

A small update from a paving company:

https://www.primaporcelain.co.uk/news/post/primaporcelain-x-leicester-city-football-club

Despite the recent difficulties faced over the past few months, the team here at PrimaPorcelain are extremely excited and proud to share the latest updates regarding our project with former English Premier League Champions, Leicester City Football Club! The Foxes have been hard at work over the last year building their state-of-the-art, £100m training complex which is set to be completed for the start of the next Premier League campaign and progress over the last few months has really started to pick up.

PrimaPorcelain has helped in the creation of the new Seagrave training ground by supplying over 600 square metres of our gorgeous Concrete Silver porcelain paving which is being installed within the players' hydrotherapy garden and courtyard terraces located in the main building. The porcelain tiles are being installed on top of our adjustable, self-levelling support pedestals, which have contributed to the quick turnaround and progress on-site.

As well as high-quality porcelain paving and tiles, our sister company TimberTechUK have also supplied Leicester City with more than 500 square metres of their EasyClean Terrain+ Silver Maple composite decking, which is being installed on balconies of the main, centrepiece building.

The whole team here at PrimaPorcelain are incredibly proud of the progress made so far on the installation of our porcelain tiles and very much look forward to seeing the finished results. Be sure to keep an eye out on further updates from us, where we will be showing off the final look!

Apparently the 2 players suites have now been replaced with hospitality facilities.

So Top is the only one with a suite now. All players will now get the same level of room. Still love to know who the posher suites were meant to be for and why they have now been replaced with essentially posh meeting rooms.

Don’t know where else to put, have we established when the lads are back in for pre season training? Imagine it would be with the next 10-14 days?

Most of them are abroad in Ibiza. Do footballers have to quarantine on arrival? Seems government officials don’t have to

The ones that have been in Greece should be ok. I think Maddison and Chilwell went to Mykonos.

Originally I was told they had been specifically done for 2 current players. Was lead to believe it was kasper to reduce his travelling and fuchs presumably for similar reasons that he could be based there when not in the states. But never managed to get it confirmed. But they have definitely now been removed

I'd be intrigued to see the council's plans for the junction.

As someone who doesn't live a million miles away from the new training ground, there have been dozens of accidents and a lot of fatalities in that junction.

Crossing right onto the A46 heading towards Nottingham is treacherous and literally impassable during peak times. Infact even during the middle of the day you have to wait a fair time. There were talks of a fly-over at some point being made however this would have been too costly. Theres too many people who take risks at the junction and it definitely needs to be sorted.

I drove past the training ground the other day, and honestly from what you can see it looks incredible. The main building looks fantastic and being honest the speed in which the site has been transformed is pretty impressive, even if people are frustrated about when it opens. It wasn't long ago that the members of the golf club were told to practically do-one, as their memberships were cancelled. So to see it go up is pretty impressive. Theres a fair bit of building happening in that area of the county too, with more housing going up in the Seagrave side of Sileby.

Haha! I have inside knowledge of this! Their plans are to basically do f-all. Whilst some minor highway improvements are required as part of the project (a

Section 278 agreement), they are absolutely minimal.

Apparently, the junction actually doesn't have too bad accident statistics - which is mad, because it feels like a death trap - so major improvements can't be justified.

Don't you love it when everything has to be supported by stats rather than using a touch of commonsense
