I for one still believe this story could have a happy ending. 6
Lesta2014 Posted 19 July 2020 Share Posted 19 July 2020 I’m absolutely dreading this! Evans looked knackered towards end towards games in quick succession has caught up with him! 90 minutes pure graft please is all I ask, vardy playing like it’s 2016 pressing from the front setting the tempo! Chelsea pressed Man Utd high today and they couldn’t get out! That’s the way we beat them! Southampton presses high also and got a point! I’d play hamza to be the high presser with Ndidi at the base shielding the back 4!

I’m concerned that a high press will leave us facing some Three on three /four on four breaks and there will likely be one outcome to those ...... just can’t see a tactical way of coming out on top ........ Brendan really needs to work this out .....

oxtonfox Posted 19 July 2020 Share Posted 19 July 2020 Well this is absolutely our last, last and very last chance after six previous chances we have screwed up since lockdown. Any takers for this one? No, me neither, but as a Leicester fan we can dream. Keep dreaming

Legend_in_blue Posted 19 July 2020 Share Posted 19 July 2020 (edited) Are we in "must win" territory yet? We could be winning this game with less than a minute to go and VAR will still find a way to screw us over. Pliskin Posted 19 July 2020 Share Posted 19 July 2020 We won’t win. We don’t stand a single chance. The odds would have to be well in our favour and United would have to have more than rotten luck. It is absolutely 100% nailed on a man united win. I thought things may pan out a bit differently but spurs showed us how far behind this side is to even them, and they’re below us. I genuinely think they will beat our record against Southampton, whilst Martin Tyler and Gary Neville wank each other into oblivion.

Why post such shit that is completely untrue. Genuinely didn't read anything you wrote after that as what's the point as it will just be hysterical claptrap no doubt.
Fox in the North Posted 19 July 2020 Share Posted 19 July 2020 If we get the chance, I think United are there to be got at. We are going to concede so may as well throw caution way way out the window!
Number 6 Posted 19 July 2020 Share Posted 19 July 2020 They were pretty average against Palace, and got done today. Wonder if it is catching up with a side who have played many of the same players for every game? Fully expect them to win in midweek though hopefully still leave us just needing a 1-0 win to do it. We'll be underdogs, but so what, not over until the final whistle.
Chocolate Teapot Posted 19 July 2020 Share Posted 19 July 2020 The meltdown over not finishing 4th is an absolute shambles and everything that's wrong with football. It doesnt mean anything - a 4th place trophy and the difference between being shafted 4-0 in Barcelona on weds evening or playing Thursday night in Stockholm isn't really an issue. The travesty in all this is Arsenal could end up holding a trophy something that actually matters instead us and we'll end up lamenting missing out on pot 4. Couldn't give a toss, football is about winning things, the season was ****ed when we surrendered at villa park.

TWUKO Posted 19 July 2020 Share Posted 19 July 2020 I think we'll comfortably be beaten, possibly heavily beaten! Most of our games against the big teams this season have gone the same way, very rarely look like winning, even if we don't deserve to lose we just do! Man u are 18 unbeaten? Not sure if that includes the cup? There's still a chance but its slim! I'm just glad we did bag a Europa league spot, we would have taken that at the start of the season and if we take it seriously we are in with a chance of winning it. If we don't manage to get CL I just hope we give it up with a fight and not just gift it away. Have been so sick of sky banging on about the race for the top 4 this season, yet not mentioning Leicester even when were were about 15 points clear of man u, spurs etc. Its almost like we're not allowed to be there. One last thing i hope for this season is that vardy can win the golden boot, he deserves it and I'd be very proud knowing that a Leicester player won it in the top flight, which again would have been unimaginable only a few years ago! TheLittleBigMan Posted 19 July 2020 Share Posted 19 July 2020 Too many key players out for us to be effective. Whatever team he puts out i'm confident they will give their best and work bloody hard for it but with so many players out I can't see a win. That being said, the odds for a win won't be 5000-1 now will it? Up the foxes
Chocolate Teapot Posted 19 July 2020 Share Posted 19 July 2020 Has anyone actually realised the difference in champions league money to Europe league is 13m euros? (Based on us being knocked out in the first round of the competition. Thatd buy us 1 x papy mendy so I'm not exactly sure it matters that much, nor makes us that much more financially stable. 1

I think what people care mostly about is how there have been clubs who have dabbled in the Europa League in years gone by and faded into mediocrity. Many more so than the teams who have broken the elite Champions League clubs in their respective leagues. We had the chance to do that and were in a commanding position that is now all but gone. Like many have said, I’m sure if offered the season we’ve had at the start of the year you’d take it. But in the context of the season it seems like yet another missed chance to seize the moment, and we’ve had a few since we won the league. I don’t think it’s necessarily wrong for people to want their team to be at the very top, especially when there have been chances to assert dominance. ozvaldo Posted 19 July 2020 Share Posted 19 July 2020 88th minute: Gray (who came on as a sub on the 85th minute), executes his 67th step over before slipping Vardy in to get a dramatic late winner, surely securing 4th place and bagging himself Premier League Top Goalscorer. 89th minute: VAR rules the goal out as Kelechi’s tongue is in an offside position. He was unable to keep it under control inside his mouth and as such it was obstructing De Gea’s vision. Another clear and obvious decision goes Utd’s way. 90th minute: Utd win a corner. It’s whipped in by Fernandez as Slab Head loses his man (Papy Mendy) to glance it over Kasper into the far corner. Just like a Super Stevie Howard throwback. Kasper kicks the ball over the roof and is subsequently yellow carded. He calls the ref a cûnt, gets a second yellow. We haven’t chosen a GK on the bench so Youri goes in goal. 6 minutes added. We bring on Hirst for Wilf. He doesn’t touch the ball. It finishes LCFC 0 - 1 UTD. Brendan comes out to say he’s proud of what we’ve achieved this season. Europa Football was always the main goal, even when we were comfortably safe in 3rd position. The bin heads (including me) go full-bin on the radio phone in. The snowflakes start to get offended for no reason. We all enter the 9 stages of grief.
