Aus Fox Posted 18 August 2020 Posted 18 August 2020 Classic FoxesTalk, no wonder we give shit to all of our players if even Silva is not good enough. Can’t believe Arsenal have a Henry statue, all he did was score goals. What exactly have you got to do to be a legend? 3

I can only think of Kompany, Aguero and KDB who may be more deserving, and those last two are debatable.

Popular Post UniFox21 Posted 18 August 2020 Popular Post Posted 18 August 2020 Paul Ince deciding Silva and Kompany don't deserve statues as players like Henry and Bergkamp don't have them outside Arsenal. Little does he realise Henry has had one for 9 years and Bergkamp for 6 years. Great bit of punditry there. 10
Stuntman_Mike Posted 18 August 2020 Posted 18 August 2020 The comments on here about Silva not deserving a statue reconfirm this place as being littered with genuine simpletons. The guy is a legend for Man City, he's won a shed load of trophies and has been there for a decade. I just don't understand any other opinion on this one. 1
goose2010 Posted 18 August 2020 Posted 18 August 2020 Once Vardy leaves us I would love a statue of him in front of the way end with his finger on his lips! 1 1
Jack1993 Posted 18 August 2020 Posted 18 August 2020 What people are really saying; "I can't believe Man City are putting up a statue of David Silva outside their ground, he doesn't deserve one, he's Spanish for Christ sake"
SmuelMartin Posted 18 August 2020 Posted 18 August 2020 According to @exWHUemployee on Twitter, disclaimer, they’re really pretty good. Fixture release has been pushed forward to tomorrow.

fox_up_north Posted 18 August 2020 Posted 18 August 2020 I've got Man City mates who are absolutely gutted he's going and that he doesn't get a proper send off this season. Best way I can think to describe it is if Andy King was the Vardy equivalent of midfielders.

Do people actually watch games or just the goals on MOTD or Sky? I've never seen a man make football look so easy and simple like Silva has But then they'll need another for KDB, eventually... Where does it stop? 1

The Horse's Mouth Posted 18 August 2020 Posted 18 August 2020 Dont think anyone is disputing that Silva is a good player, but it is the equivalent of Man united putting up a michael carrick one 2 1

Straight in the badfootball opinions thread. In terms of his influence he’s more Cantona than Carrick. 3 1

Behave yourself, he was always a really talented player who slipped into the background, yaya is more iconic of that side that Silva period g 1
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 19 August 2020 Posted 19 August 2020 Isn't the real reason people are questioning this because normally these statues are reserved for home grown players or record scorers? And it seems a bit odd to give it to a midfielder from Spain. However he's been an ever present in one of the best midfields around for a decade and made well over 400 appearances! Definitely worth a statue!!
boots60 Posted 19 August 2020 Posted 19 August 2020 A statue of Richie Wellens would be most welcome. He was the most "Statuesque" player in our history.

Sharpe's Fox Posted 19 August 2020 Posted 19 August 2020 Paul Ince's punditry is as lazy as his left eye. 2
