Did they say Joey Gudjohnsson son of the bench for Iceland?  it did I mishear? makes me feel very old.

Doubt they reference Joey Gudjohnsson. Only Leicester and Burnley fans have ever heard of him lol

I did think that but they did, although I think he just said he played in England rather than who he played for.

According to Icelandic naming system he would be called Johannesson.

Northern Ireland boss Ian Baraclough insists none of his players will be retiring from international football.

The international future of senior players such as captain Steven Davis, 35, and Jonny Evans, 31, has been debated in the media since last week's Euro play-off defeat by Slovakia.

However, Baraclough is confident of retaining all of his squad for next year's World Cup qualifying campaign.

"Not at all, no," he said when asked if he expects any retirements. "Certainly, everyone that I have spoken to who have been part of the group for the last six, seven, eight years have still got that hunger and desire to be a part of this.

Don't know how Youri is still going! Played a crazy amount of football this year

Think Youri is our current Danny Drinkwater - a player that wants, almost needs to play every minute of every game. Outside our club, Lionel Messi is the most famous player like this.

To maintain peak fitness, Youri needs to play. Brendan has said as much.

Might be better subbing him when we can than rotating him?

Tielemans starting again today, between us and belgium he's going to be run down before new years if he keeps on going on like this.

And how many people on here were questioning the lads fitness? ‘Chubby’ ‘carrying’ ‘unfit’ ... hmmmm

Didn't know Rodgers had said that. Really interesting!

Tees become such an important player for us that we can't afford him to burnout or get a lengthy injury

That crossed my mind too.

I'd wondered if his physiology means he loses fitness very quickly and as such, needs to play to maintain peak condition and consequently avoid injury
