Everyone forgetting Top is a nightmare to negotiate with. We got £50m for a btec Luke Thomas & £85m for a fridge.

Youri’s got more talent in his left big toe than the two of those other chops put together. Should be a big number on his head, and in a post covid world I don’t think anyone can afford him.

There's absolutely no reason for you to belittle kitchen appliances

Must be going not in any photo shoots with the new kit from what I’ve seen and out on his own again, same at Wembley.

Gini replacement at Liverpool?

I can't see how Liverpool could afford him. He would cost more than VVD.

Just seems strange the way he’s  acting hopefully I’m wrong. You’d get him for 70m end of the day we can nearly buy 3 players for that

No way are we selling him for less than Maguire. If anyone bids, I genuinely think Top/Rudkin will start the bidding at £90m minimum. There are not many players around with his ability. We would be silly to sell for less than £100m in my opinion.

I agree he’s top draw but Leicester will sell maybe pushing 80 yes he’s worth more to us but you’d get him at that price

It would also annoy me greatly if he joined Liverpool as he is miles better than that. He could get in at Real, Barce, Bayern and would even be good at Man City. Liverpool won't win much over the next few years in my opinion.

Liverpool have a great side. With their proper defence and Youri they'd be every bit as likely to have success as Real/Barca/Man City.

If he wanted out you wouldn’t get near 100m for him with 2 years left on his deal

Interesting that we only got him on a 4 year contract, as most of our recent signings are generally on 5 year deals. Maybe he was never planning on sticking around

If they got Youri, that is their summer budget done. They need a centre back as well as a possibly a striker. Unless they plan on selling some players (and I don't mean their fringe players), I can't see how they will have a squad good enough to compete on all fronts if they only sign Youri. Hed be an amazing signing for them but they also have other areas that need strengthening and they don't have alot of money. Compared to Man United, Chelsea and Man C, they are miles behind in terms of finances.

Don't think it's worth selling any first team players in this window due to the economic reality caused by covid, which has depressed values. Assuming that everything slowly gets back to normality, wouldn't it better to persuade him to sign another contract with a gentleman's agreement that he can move after next season?

Because players are "cheaper" to buy because of the economics, it might be a good time to buy, borrowing more than usual, if necessary, in the knowledge that top players values will surely increase.

Of course, this is assumes that covid will be over by next season. Let's hope so, but nothing is certain.

Half the squad haven’t had photos in the new kit, or at least they haven’t been shown on social media

No he wasn't lol

No one else broke away from the group and did a solo lap of honour on either day

at Wembley, YT did two!   At first I made a joke of it to my son saying that youri is doing an Esteban (with his post goal bow v qpr) .........when he did the second lap I really took note.

to see him to similar today (yes i know kasper was also solo applauding the fans at that point) has definitely raised my concerns. To hear Brendan say that he can reassure the fans that ‘for himself’ he isn’t leaving raises more concerns that we will lose a player we don’t want to.

Vardy also did a solo lap of honour yesterday

I would more read into the fact that it was the leadership team in the squad (Kasper, Vardy, Youri) doing it rather than singling out Youri

Hope we don't lose him, but he's too good not to be playing champions league. We will need to be in it soon if we want to keep players of his calibre.

Players of his quality often have their careers mapped out

He is 24

a big move now leaves another possible big move when he’s 28

if he stays here another year then maybe he loses the chance of that second move??

it’s not about us - he will be getting a lot of advice and if you were his agent, you would be thinking a lot about getting him two big transfers between now and the end of his career. 💰  💰

I am resigned to us losing him tbh, if he stays it will be a miracle. He’s probably going to have so many suitors, but he will definitely leave on our terms transfer wise. It’s just reality with us missing out on the champions league. He’s wants to play at the highest level against Europe’s elite.
