Youri could go anywhere but would he feel as appreciated? 

He is truly loved at the KP and, although we've failed to secure CL, he is still young enough to get there with us, or move on if that doesn't happen. 

 

With a young family, he's got everything he needs at Leicester, for the time being.

I will remake this plus add FA Cup goal of the century plus Youri signing the new contract if it's done.

 

And I think it will be! The LCFC Twitter admin mysteriously posted this a few weeks ago, which makes me think the deal was done then in principle.

That was one of the most fun off season days on these forums ever.

 

I think the really nice thing is that not only did he sign, but he lived up to expectations. No matter what happens from here on out, that goal is as iconic as it comes! A goal more than worthy of finally landing the prestigious trophy.

 

One day we will break our transfer record again, and I am intrigued as to who that player would be. I can't see us doing it for a few seasons yet now though with Covid impacting football finances.

Jebus Christ its like hes already gone.. i assume hes handed in a transfer request? no?  Cause didnt i read after the lastgame from a valid twitter page journo that hes looking to extend his contract.

 

Maybe he wanted to give the fans some love because hes a genuine professional and wanted to appreciate his fans over a tough covid season.. but ofcourse the doom n gloom patrol sees it as a farewell and nothing more, media wins once again.

 

Wins players player of the season and has an encouraging photo taken with the Top & BR, doesnt look like someones whos looking for an escape just yet.

 

Never assume crap that isnt concrete, wait till you hear valid reports ffs.

His FA Cup final performance was one of the very best individual match perfomances I've ever witnessed in a Leicester match. He was everywhere. I know Kasper's two great saves were vital but we would not have won the final without this guy.

There must be a chance he will not be here next season unfortunately.

That last half hour collapse  against Spurs will have huge implications for our transfer and wage budget next season.

I honestly believe he will stay, when the contact negotiations commenced there was always a chance we could fail to achieve UCL, if it was that dependent then he would have shelved the discussions until the season was concluded. 
 

Sunday didn’t look like a goodbye. Yes he was emotional but we had just let UCL slip from our grasp in the last 15 minutes of the game, all the players looked devastated.  He clearly loves this club and is a winner so for both reasons Sunday will have hurt. However he is happy and settled here and plays week in and week out, that wouldn’t happen at a big club, rotation would mean he would miss significant game tine and that does not suit him. If and when he does leave it will be because he realises he cannot achieve all his ambitions with us, and the way we are progressing and his age means he has plenty of years ahead before leaving to join an elite club. I think he will sign his new deal (5 years) and will leave by the end of 3rd year unless something drastic happens at which point he will be around 26/27 and in his prime.

He will sign, but with a gentleman's agreement with Top, that he can go in the next year or two!  It was probably the same agreement with Maddison last year, but in his case, his stock has gone down and one of the CL clubs coming in for him are very slim. Youri is Bayern/Madrid/Barcelona/Man U & Psg bound, whereas Maddison is more likely to go to an Arsenal!

Watched Harry Maguire interview https://youtu.be/vC8hhobRJiw he talks about doing a extra year at the request of Vichai, so wouldn't be surprised if we have do the same with YT
