Not really. If we can ship out a Chilwell and bring in a Fofana and Castagne every season, we improve. We have made money this way but reinvested it - Maguire out, new training ground in! That’s growth and development.

Youri different gravy to chillers.

Everyone forgetting Top is a nightmare to negotiate with. We got £50m for a btec Luke Thomas & £85m for a fridge.

Youri’s got more talent in his left big toe than the two of those other chops put together. Should be a big number on his head, and in a post covid world I don’t think anyone can afford him.

There's worry on either side of the scenarios.

We don't want to lose him and can anyone afford what we want for him as you quite rightly say.

If he stays, we need him to sign a new contract or his price starts dropping dramatically after this summer.

We've dealt with these situations very well in recent years and I have no reason to think we won't this time. I just hope he stays and we manage to talk him into seeing it as good for both parties that he signs a new contract, this could be trickier than past situations though.

The aura I get from Youri is that he is genuine and very classy in personality, unlike the past situations we've had to dealt with. (Kante aside).

Youri does seem to have a genuine affection for us. We have got his career back on track after a false start with Monaco and he has brought Leicester on another notch to go with it.

It might help us in one way too that the Belgium squad bar about half a dozen or so is not comprised of top 6 clubs in England or the top 6 clubs in Europe.

You only had to look at the hype that surrounded Maguire and Chilwell on their England breakthrough. Even with Mahrez you got the impression from his fanboys that he belonged with one of the superclubs. Even Riyad was willing to turn his back on us straight after the title win.

You don't seem to get the same obsession with elitism from Belguim.

I listened to a maguire interview where he said the club asked him to do one more year and they'd let him go.

We heard the same with Mahrez, I'd imagine similar with chilwell too.

I doubt we've made that call with youri too.

Not yet, that may well be the conversation we have with him this summer when he signs his new deal.

Would have thought that’s exactly what will happen if he suggests he wants to play in the champions league over staying with us.

Yeah inevitably he'll go but in a years time and for a big fee.

Thing is Rodgers wants a team that can enter the champions league and more than holds it own in that company and this policy is unlikely to get you that even if it makes good business sense.

It doesn’t matter what he says, it’s what Top and board say / think. And reality has been for a while, a player does well for us he inevitably leaves (for a decent profit). It might change but everyone will have to be patient (especially with COVID impact on finances)

Let’s hope the Wank 6 do get a punishment after all, and it’s an embargo on inbound transfers for several epochs.

If Youri does go I hope it's to a top club in Europe that befits his talent eg Barca, Real, Bayern, not to one of the greedy 6.

Barca and real are part of the greedy twelve .......

Fair point but they are true elite clubs, unlike Chelsea who until Abramovic were West Ham playing in blue.

I’m putting myself in his shoes. Maybe he would love to stay but knows he may have to leave in order to get champs league and he’s realised we’re not the club to get him there. That’s the guys level.

I hope I’m wrong and he stays and we continue to develop a quality squad.

I think your right, plus he knows he can improve with better players.  Can you imagine how good he would be in a Barca, PSG or Bayern team.  The kid has so much potential.

If he goes, good luck to him, great to have had him at the club.  Thank you Claude Puel.
