But he's only got to play against 1 "decent side" in Man City until Evans is back, which in all likelihood we'd have lost even with a full strength squad anyway. Imo out of the three games Wilf will have to play CB, there aren't any "marginal" games that will be swung by the fact he's playing out of position.

Evans is back for Man City isn't he? Don't know if he's injured, but he's only suspended for Burnley and the cup game against Arsenal.

I'm pretty sure there was a video of training recently with him in it. Might have been Castagne's first session.

This looks like him on the right of photo no.19... https://www.lcfc.com/galleries/1822776/first-team-training-west-bromwich-albion

Good spot! Strange that he didn't feature in any pre season games or in any of the internationals with Northern Ireland, will he be match ready to come straight in against Man City?

Missed the first NI international for personal reasons and then when he got back into training ahead of the second game, had a thigh strain so they didn't risk him.

He's also in today's training photos so he'll be fit and ready I'd imagine.

They have a few injury issues themselves; Jack Cork, Ben Mee, Ashley Barnes could all be unavailable for the match

Their line up is likely to be

Pope

Lowton

Tarkowski

Long

Taylor

Gudmundsson

Westwood

Brownhill

McNeil

Wood

Rodriguez

We thought our depth was bad, after the injuries and that 11, pretty much the only recognisable players on the bench are; Bardsley (RB), Pieters (LB), Brady (LM), Vydra (ST), none of which I see as being able to come off the bench and make a difference

Probably Bardsley rather than Lowton.  Vydra can make a difference off the bench, as he proved a couple of times last season.  But as long as we're winning, we don't want to make a difference!  ;)

Ok - thanks for sharing that, Sean...

Burnley Injury crisis (tick)

Burnley fatigued with extra time (tick)

Burnley played only 3 days before the game while we get a week's rest (tick)

We looked excellent for large parts against WBA and finally looked to put an end to the abysmal form (tick)

Burnley to shithouse us 1-0  with Chis Wood late winner (tick)

Didn't they have loads of injuries when they beat us 2-1 at their gaff last season.

Hamza is too negative and like casablancas said not discipline enough at the moment. Mendy is not only super tidy, he tries to fill in holes and help move the ball forward. Better at Ndidi at that. Same as Praet.  Hamza just runs and when he receives a pass he often does not even look around for a forward pass - he instantly hits it back to the back 4. Quite frustrating at times. In fact, that has been the problem for a few other players too like Chilwell, which is why having Castagne is a massive upgrade when it comes to moving the ball faster and forward. Ndidi is the next problem in that CDM role (but he was in CB role in West Brom game). Madders is guilty of that too actually - and he is not as “creative“ as some thinks (he had just a few assists last season despite his “creativity”) but he has potential if he can play more direct and in a more forward position like some of us said last season he can be great. In a deeper role, Madders dances around too much, does a few too many short backward passes or picks the wrong pass thinking that they look nice, but he slows down play, unlike direct players like Praet, Castagne, Barnes and Albrighton. Perez is ok too (he has a forward mentality) but he is not a winger and has been played out of position.

So you're still unconvinced by Ndidi as a CDM? I guess having the most tackles and interceptions in the league for the past few seasons just isn't up to scratch.
