Absolutely not.  Everyone is allowed their own opinion and I accept you don't think much of his abilities.  I was merely pointing out the apparent disparity between your persona of the Voice of Reason and your somewhat abrupt description of his abilities.

I very much doubt if he's sh*t.  He's a professional footballer so by definition is likely to be better than (probably) 99% of everyone on here.  Certainly he will be better than me - because I am really sh*t - but I've never seen him.

Each to his own, but I do find that a reasoned argument works better than simple abuse.

You never know you might persuade me.

I mean it wasn't abuse it was an observation, calling him shit is within the context of looking through the looking glass of a club who has desires to continue playing in Europe, not sure why you'd take it so literally. He's in the championship still for a reason, if he was a top player he'd have been able to have gotten moves earlier on the window like Ake and Wilson.

Welbeck is worth a risk, even if a short term deal. He would be a relief striker to take the pressure of Vardy playing two games a week, and a plan C to possibly play with Nacho give another formation with 2x up front.

Plan c. Surely we would need a plan b before we consider a plan c. But in all seriousness, Welbeck is a dreadful shout.

I’ve always liked King more than Wilson because he’s a right handful and usually plays behind the striker.

Think he’s the type of option we need when Vards isn’t getting a look in. He’s an upgrade on Pérez playing behind the striker

Average numbers and a player who isn't going to improve, he had a purple patch which skewers that a bit. I'd have took wilson but this is would just be more deadwood to shift in a year or twos time, we should be buying players to improve the first 11 not the players on the bench(and id still take kelechi over him)

Our issue with the striker position is that no matter who we sign, they won't be in the first 11 unless we're playing 2 strikers. Vardy is top dog and unless he's injured he will be for at least another 2 seasons (this and next).

This is key. Any striker we buy will be back up to Vardy. So whoever we buy in that position is unlikely to be a Grade A player.

Purely out of curiosity, why would "links" or "quotes" make any difference?

Does that have to be the case though? With Shinji, Slimani and on a few occasions Kelechi last season, we played with two strikers. Vardy playing up front on his own is something we've mainly seen post-title win. Kane and Son are currently tearing it up as a staggered front pair, so it's not a thing of the past.

King would likely be backup based on his similar abilities to Vardy, but the point still stands.

Exactly, so there's no point continuing to keep buying backups, the amount of strikers we've been through since the title win has been mad. Kelechi is adequate cover, if both went out we could always play Perez there. The calibre of player we should be buying won't want to be second fiddle to vardy we agree on, so that effectively means we're buying deadwood for the sake of a potential injury down the line which we do have cover for.

Fabian Reese. Getting bored of saying it. It’s almost as if no-one is listening!!! :trumpet:

Possibly get him on a pay as you play deal, at least he wouldn't cost us anything.

According to Wiki he has 72 over in 324 appearances in all comps in his career. He got 3 in 20 appearances at Watford, he's just not worth it. He's never been as good as the hype suggested, is a croc and will have pretty high wage expectations too.

I don't rate him, but I thank him for "that" goal he scored against us.

We all know what happened after that and the extra motivation it gave our boys seeing how they acted in the dressing room after the game.

King is in advanced talks with WBA for £10m apparently.

Would think wages come into it, WBA more likely to take a bigger risk on wages out of necessity.

Go get him for 15m and we’ll of had the best window we’ve ever had, simple. He’s a great player at this level who would be happy with playing squad football.

Nothing beats the window we signed Shinji, Fuchs and Kanté.

I'm reliably informed that WBA are not in advanced talks with him.

They may have enquired about his price with Bournemouth but that's it.

WBA are "skint" I'm told.

Potentially a loan deal at WBA - that's still a long shot as Bournemouth want to sell

So do you see us at serious suitors and making an approach to sign? Or are we just keeping him as only as potential if needed?
