Injuries at the club.

Those saying we messed up not strengthening the squad in January have no idea who we tried to sign and you can only sign players if their club will let them leave, if the player wants to come, if we're not being ripped off with the price or if they are contract free which usually means their probably not that good.

It can almost be out of the clubs hands.

This all day, loads of fans moaning at not signing any one do people honesty think Rodgers  and the club didn’t try and just sat back all January

I’ve never known a season like it. Barring Schmeichel and Tielemans every single one of our best XI has been injured this season.

Probably because theres never been a season like it? We are pretty much playing every 3/4 days on a small squad and have been for months. Not even the standard Championship season is that relentless

4 games in March for us to get through - Burnley, Brighton, Sheff Utd, Man Utd

Then we have a 2 week International Break going into April

Going into the Man City game on April 3rd we should be at the point where we are only missing Barnes (who will still have 2+ weeks left), and JJ

Perez, Praet, Fofana, Maddison, Evans, Morgan should all be back by then

Seriously. We need a new medical/physio team, a new training schedule, and a new pitch. No more coincidences.

Agree but also remember it's a freak season where games seemed to be crammed in. A lot of teams have had injuries, granted not as many/as important as us aside from Liverpool. I've watched many games this season where players have pulled up with hamstring injuries.

Next season is not gonna be any better considering the World Cup in Winter so games will be crammed in again (probably more midweek games).

Those stats can't be right. Ricardo took three months to come back, Soyuncu out for three months, Ndidi for three, Castagne about three months in total. Plus even players like Amartey and Morgan, albeit back-ups, have had lengthy spells out.

Think there's an issue with the player conditioning currently. We seem to be experiencing a lot of the same/similar types of injuries many of which coincide with Rodgers appointment.

The pandemic and sheer volume of games has clearly played its part but in seems like we've failed to use squad rotation to manage the load effectively and instead been forced into using the squad because players have broken down.

But when we do manage the squad a la slavia, fans are not happy. Agree with your point though

Just gotta hope the international players come back unscathed

Muscle fatigue to thighs and hamstrings can make other types of injuries (e.g knee soft tissue) more likely.

Of course there is an element of bad luck but to universally dismiss as being all down to luck isn't right.

Managing player workload, intensity of training, failing to reinforce the squad and luck all play a part.

How much of the above can be levied as "blame" on Rodgers himself is another debate.

100% I agree with this, and your right regarding the last sentence, it’s another debate.

when we see how Arsenal and spurs both had more energy then us today, despite also playing on Thursday, this is what concerns me.
