3 points was all that mattered here and to win 3 games in a week, 2 of which were away, with a weakened team, is a great effort. Shout out to big Wes playing 90 mins and putting in a good performance and some very good headed clearances. Now onto Leeds who are apparently managed by the greatest manager the world has ever seen.

Only issue is how short we are going to be against Leeds. I think we will go 3 at the back again, probably have JJ and Albrighton as wing backs, Fuchs as part of the back 3, maybe even Wes. 

 

At least we should still be strong in midfield with Tielemans, Maddison and Mendy.

Any win away in Europe, especially with an unsettled and heavily rotated side is not to be sniffed at (look at Spurs) and AEK aren't use to losing at home. 

 

It should be great for Hamza's confidence to score - hopefully that improves his form domestically. 

 

The only real downside for me, if any, was how poor Youri was. Maybe he should've been rested as many said in the pre match thread. 

 

We've had 5 of the title winning team on the pitch, including Morgan at his best in his late 30's, Simpson in the BT studio and Kingy reporting on Sky. It's been a fun night, even if the game wasn't overly exciting. 

 

It's a shame we couldn't celebrate this in Athens with the rest of the blue army but it is what it is.

Unconvincing but comfortable in the end. Away wins in Europe aren't easy so have to be happy. With our injuries every win is a good result regardless of overall performance.

 

Morgan was solid, Under bright and looked positive. Generall ok-ness all round. 

 

Hopefully Evans fit for Monday.

I think it's gonna be another grind. Really wouldn't surprise me if we lined up against them like we did against Arsenal.

Good to see Mendy fine as well and the fact he didn't play a full 90 today will work in our favour. Youri just keeps on going doesn't he?! No doubt he plays again on Monday. Bet he's waiting for a bit of rest

Said it before and there are obviously more important things in life currently but these European games just hitting home how disappointing no fans allowed is. Would've been a great night for our fans, special for Dundalk at Arsenal too.

Matches like this are tricky. If you don't match or better the energy of the other club you get punished no matter how much talent you have on the pitch. Says something about this club that we matched or bettered them the whole game. Everyone put in a shift even if we weren't at our best. Our confidence is building.
