Gut feeling or inside information?

Hamstring? Or joined the ranks of the groin strain club?

That would be some feat that 3 of the 4 returning injured players had a flare up as soon as exposed to match preparation training or first team football. Is is bad luck or are we doing something wrong?

...a lot of people have remarked about our injury problems, some even stretching to potential conspiracy theories!!!

For me, something just is not right, all this around the time of Dave Rennie's departure and who we have, or what we do behind closed doors, just not working.

Players completing games knowing that their is an issue and them struggling to come back in one piece, is a worry and you get the feeling the physio team are missing something, there is a habit at this club to keep on doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Sorry, but when is Timmy fit enough for the bench or first XI?

I think he has been Taken.  Need Liam Neeson on the case  badly so he play on Sunday.

I do hope you’re wrong on this. Can’t see Ricardo starting a PL game for a month either. Not sure how much longer we can paper over the cracks

Yes.

CL teams come into effect so we would miss one of them for a start .

We can still get a team out of the CL by winning the group. Just happens to be that team should be significantly weaker than the other CL drop outs

And score from all our corners...

Big difference between scoring from all corners and NONE at all. Not sure how anyone could be happy (or even merely satisfied) with us being only 1 of 3 teams (the other 2 relegation candidates) not to have scored from a spot-kick all season! Some things deserve criticism.

Schmeichel

Justin

Morgan (Evans if not fit)

Fofana

Albrighton

Ndidi

Praet

Thomas

Under

Perez

Iheanacho

Subs: Ward, Fuchs, Choudhury, Mendy, Barnes, Maddison, U23 attacker

Give Ndidi some more minutes. Try under in the hole and see how the front two work together. Choudhury on for Ndidi and Barnes up top.

Not one for Big Wes.  We need to win this.

I’m not trying to be pedantic, but a ‘spot-kick’ usually means a penalty. Which we’ve scored a fair few of.

You don’t have to “try” when you are being literally pedantic... lol

Nonetheless, for the record, ‘spot kicks’ are not confined to PKs

It simply refers to free-kicks awarded from the spot of infringement, and (other than PKs) we haven’t scored from those or corner kicks all season.

Start with strong 11, go all out attack, hopefully get a decent lead and then rest some of the forwards/Evans/injury returners for Brighton.

Get the group won as we want a favourable draw in the next round. A total dead rubber for them so hopefully it will be an easier game than at theirs. Aside from wrapping up the group a win and decent performance will be good for morale.

suspect we will stick with the 5-3-2/3-5-2.

I've never anything other than a penalty described as a spot kick. i e a kick from the penalty spot.

My old Sunday league team managed to play every week, all that was needed was a tub of Tiger Balm and Vaseline, all of this modern day chirochamber bollocks is all kack.... get a tinny down their neck before the game and crack on. Christ I miss the 90’s.

Count me in for some pedantry. I've never, ever seen spot kick refer to anything other than a penalty. It's a kick taken from the penalty spot.

And that’s the difference between colloquial and literal. Not worthy of pedantry lol

Perhaps it's an overseas thing, as with PK for penalty. It's a big wide world and we use different words for different things. That said, if I was following the game on Twitter and our account said we'd been given a spot kick, I think the natural response would be to assume we've got a penalty rather than a free kick on the edge of our own box
