I'm really interested to see how Brendan manages the squad over these three games. Starting with the one last Sunday (Brighton). There's no way Vards will start all 3, Youri needs to be managed, Fuchs legs will crumble etc etc.

Vardy will play in all 3, unless he gets injured or suspended tonight. 100%.

So will Tielemans. Fuchs I give you, probably won't.

Other than the game we lifted the title Everton usually play well at the KP.

Apart from 2016 can’t remember a comfortable game against these

They were abysmal in Puel's first game in charge for us, we took them apart first half and then coasted to an easy victory.

I really don't think starting Vards & playing most of the 90 in all 3 is a wise decision. If the hammy goes twang. We won't see him until Feb

That could happen in any game, he has been managed through the Europa league to allow for this busy period. If we're in a position to take him off then great, maybe we should have done that against Brighton. He won't play every game over Christmas of course, our team at Palace will be much-changed, but I'd be massively surprised if he doesn't start every game before then.

You could be right, but think he will also play with a goalkeeper

Just watched the Match Preview on Amazon Prime, fairly lightweight as these shows inevitably are, but there was one good point (Made by NYT chief football writer) and that was that IF you have a talismanic striker like Vardy (Or Kane, for example) it is quite natural and correct that you rely on them and they define the way you play. You can be concerned about succession planning of course, but it should in no way shape current style or personnel.

Pretty obvious I know, but its good to hear it stated in what feels like a forum type topic.

Oh, and he also said Leicester are not the best of the rest, they are currently in the best bracket..

Rory Smith, good journalist. Helps his Dad is a Leicester fan mind!

Lots of shots on goal and crosses please. We know their keeper is a liability.

Can see there being a fair few goals tonight with our injuries too...

Then we have to start with Under, he is not afraid of taking shots

Did not know that! Any influence we can spread amongst journalists is a good thing!

For some reason I just don't like playing Everton, never feel confident.

Me too.  They're a good side but sometimes it feels like a certain team has just got your number.  It used to be Palace, but I'm a bit uneasy about this one.

A lot of shouts for Morgan to step in but I'm really not sure he can last full a 90 these days.  I think Wilf steps into defence, we know that Mendy can deputise capably for WIlf and he probably deserves it.  Seems a bit harsh to bench him now that WIlf's back.  I think that we would be in all sorts of trouble without him.

Rodgers has overcome a few of these bogey teams, Palace home and away, Wolves at home, Arsenal away, Bournemouth at home

My only concern with that would be Richarlison V Albrighton, it’s a no contest.

Yeah not a massive fan of that either but a back 4 is seeing one of Fuchs, Ndidi or Morgan in it which also bothers me.

first draw of the season written all over it

Given results last night and the the shortage of centre half’s I would take a draw. 5 points from Brighton Everton spurs I’m happy with. Anything above that is outstanding for me.

Didn't Rodgers say that we could see Castagne back for this one?  :fc:

They played 4 at the back vs Chelsea on Saturday.

Not sure Everton will be allowed to start with 12 players.

Absolutely, do you think var would notice? What if they ran around a lot? 😂

I just got the overall opinion that he thought that with a 5 at the back, we were more 'gettable' at and vulnerable.  I think it was yourself, but forgive me if I'm wrong,  that pointed out that 5 at the back doesn't mean that that you're necessarily taking a defensive or negative approach which I absolutley agree with but, I think that depends on the personnel employed. It's just unfortunate that Evans is suspended but I think a 3 of Fofana, Morgan and Fuchs would be risky with the movement of Richarlson and Calvert-Lewin and therefore possibly better to employ a stronger midfield to compensate. Fuchs has been absolutely brilliant as cover but at centre half, does have a tendency to lose his man or runners going back even to the Champions League. Morgan is, in my personal  belief and if fit, despite being quite slow (always has been), still very competent and well able to do a job. I just think him and Fuchs together is a concern. Morgan and Evans are both specialists in a their position and good readers of the game.

I think Barnes over Perez but other than that I agree. Two attacking wing backs. Similar to Leeds away IIRC.
