COVID celebrations and the irony

Maybe doing things differently, like socially distanced celebrations, might reinforce the message to people watching that these are unique times and everyone, everywhere, needs to do their bit.

 

If watching James Maddison muck about with an air handshake makes just one punter keep a bit of social distance themselves, it might break an infection chain and so it's not a bad thing.

 Either school or people they socialise with increase the potential to come into contact.

 Even if all the players  resided at the new Training Ground for the rest of the season without contact from any family member, the mere fact that they are playing games will put them at risk.

If they'd sacrificed the pointless hugging before and after games, I'd understand it. I don't see the need to dig out players for enjoying the best moments of the game, though.

 

No doubt it will descend into a good v bad debate as Sky and the BBC having started to do.

 

If we're happy to do the distancing when celebrating, fine. Good on us. But I'm not going to criticise those who have a brief moment of joy with their team-mates.

At the end of the day if they have been told to do it then they should and it has been noticed throughout the media that we were the only team to comply. I know I'm biased but I'm glad LCFC always stand for what is right. Another example being the saying no to TV charges.  Such a good team throughout every area.  Well done Leicester!

I don't  need lads 20, 25 years my junior 'setting me an example'.

 

I'm quite able to work out the difference between elite athletes not socially  distancing during competition (and, despite not distancing,  their risk profile is unchanged) and me popping down Tesco and deciding to give a staff member a random hug..

 

Still, that's not the fault of the players. Well done Madders for complying and at the same stroke, gently poking fun at the absurdity of it all

I hate this role model argument as well. These are young lads who do brasses on the weekends, some get arrested, some drink and drive, and they will occasionally take the odd illegal substance. As a parent you should be teaching your child right from wrong, not a young 20 year old footballer on 100k a week.

Could the goalscorer, player who provided the assist and another player stand in a line of three at imaginary podium's, with the one of three players shouting 'next slide please' while the other players do knee slides infront of them as a celebration please.

 

I think yesterday was a pisstake but in doing it it also means they can't get the finger pointed at them, which is why I think the above celebration would be a clear pisstake.

To be fair, I’m sure like a lot of people footballers and the people they live with have found out how easy it is to cut hair. Especially as a lot of the hair cuts don’t look particularly complex

I’m useless at that kind of stuff normally but it took one YouTube video to be able to do a decent job at cutting hair. I feel like I’ve been being ripped off for years at barber shops 😂

I do wish people would stop banging on about travelling together! It’s like the stupids moaning that if they can go to a supermarket why can’t they have granny around for dinner! It’s pretty simple MASKS!!! Have you noticed they all get off their respective coaches wearing masks.

Also when marking you both tend to face the direction of the ball, a hug involves unnecessary face to face time (literally the most effective way to share droplets - less a Birch/Currie situation). Also it’s one on one jostling at a set piece, there was basically a Wolves orgy when Silva scored yesterday - microorganism soup!

The thing with spitting is that all though it looks disgusting it’s almost a necessary evil as it’s needed to clear airways effectively when pushing your body to such limits. They aren’t just doing it pointlessly
