CrazyKopCorner Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 It was great there was a good airing of the 'I'm in love with Ricardo' song on Sunday. I'd love us to keep him and for him to be a role model for hopefully our young vibrant squad for 2025 / 2026. The guy oozes class 3
coolhandfox Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 Should be club captain, when Wilf goes, surely has to be our longest serving player.

If you don't count the youth players, yes. Hamza made his first appearance for the first team in 2017, so going by that measure, he'd be the longest-serving player after Ndidi.
lcfc_forever Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 (edited) His agent is saying he wants a more ambitious challenge so is looking to leave the club. 😢 Edited 31 May 2025 by lcfc_forever 9

But it could one of two things: 1- his agent is looking for a payday and a higher salary for his client as he's taking a pay cut Or 2 - this is just true, which I can believe. He's given us the best part of his career, but his injuries have held him back. Sad if true though. He's the only one that carries himself with dignity, all the time. Another high earner off our books and some fee to recoup as well. A massive hole will be left though. We're really starting again, and I really have doubts on how well we'll do with what's left Edited 31 May 2025 by fox_favourite 4
em9999 Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 I don't blame him if he wants out .. hes too good to stay at the club 1
Jimmy Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 be a shame to see him go but given his injuries it may be time, also probably one of the highest earners too

FrankieADZ Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 tbf i dont blame him if hed want to go back home or something rather he stayed but hes one of the good ones
Nolucklcfc Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 Wouldn’t be overly fussed if he left to be honest, especially if we can get some money back with a year left on his deal. Too many injuries
JimmyC74 Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 You would imagine with his injury record there won’t be many buyers. A quality player, who seemed to care about the badge but, if there is a buyer then would expect the Club takes the cash and bets they can replace him.
Popular Post moore_94 Posted 31 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 31 May 2025 One of very few players at the club I actually still like Needs to become an actual centre mid for us though rather than a right back if he stays - will help with his injuries I think Missed just 4 games last season so he certainly can have an injury free season if used and looked after properly 18
JimJams Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 Doubt we'll get offered much but happy with whatever. We have enough rightbacks. Riccy only has a year left. And while I think he'd probably be best at DM now, we'd be losing him in a year anyway and might as well address it now. If he can't find a move we benefit in the short term as he's a level above when he's fit. If he does leave, we benefit in the longer term if we get a little bit of cash. Saying that we'll probably agree to release him for nowt.
Devonfox1884 Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 Meh. Love Ricky and when fit he’s still an excellent player, but we need to cut our cloth and having a liability injury-wise on £50k+ a week isn’t the smartest idea. Shame other poor players who couldn’t care less will still be here if/when he goes though. Players who earn a similar wage… state of a club aren’t we. 1
dbtcity Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 The geezer that posted it on X has about 10 followers… stand down…. Riccy will never leave us… right 👀🙏🏻 1
les-tah Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 Deserves one last pay day… If he never did his ACL he would have left along time ago to a big club in Europe. 1
Lcfcwigstonblue Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 Don’t begrudge him leaving. However will be a huge loss. Leeds away in the Championship he absolutely ran that game even though we conspired to lose it. Would be the best player in the Championship for me next season if he stays. 2
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 We’ve looked after him injury and contract wise, and while I wish that meant he’d be loyal I cannot blame him if he wanted out. We’re a shambles.
Vlad the Fox Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 Just maybe if there was some clarity on who will be leading the team next season some of our better players might not be so twitchy. Love Ricardo though, a classy and dignified player. 1
Gamble92 Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 If anyone is willing to risk him on the same wages he's on here I'll be amazed. If so, he can go. Appreciate what he's done while he's actually been fit but we've seen enough players who don't want to really be here in the last few years. Don't really get what his agent achieves by disrespecting the club and the fans with this either. He isn't going to get a new, improved contract. If he wants to go then sort it through the usual channels. Almost as bad as Kasper's Dad telling the world he wanted out of the club that made him.
Ian Nacho Posted 31 May 2025 Author Posted 31 May 2025 Not got a problem with him leaving. Could probably run down his contract on silly money but wants to be playing at a decent level.
Haywood_6 Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 I've always rated him highly but also understand the practical side his age, wages, and our long-term needs. Genuinely brilliant footballer and a really likeable guy — something you can’t say about everyone in the squad. When he's fit he's head and shoulders above Championship level and if he goes he'll be missed. Probably still got a good few years left at a decent level - best years are behind him now though and he's probably on a big wedge which we realistically need to get off the books. Can't sugarcoat the situation but good luck to him whatever he does.
Soar Fox Posted 31 May 2025 Posted 31 May 2025 Off you pop, though I doubt anyone will give him the same wage he is on here to sit on the treatment table 4 months of the season.
