He’s having a pretty big impact too, I’m wondering if it is worth looking at the MLS? They have some pure athletes in that league, Dike for example looks like he can play too, at 20 he’s got time to adjust and improve. Certainly would be a decent addition to a squad in my opinion to help develop into a top player. I’m strictly against signing anyone called Daryl. Shocking name 3

For a free agent who we would be spending 30 million+ if buying him for a fee I would expect us to be pushing double that if we need to. It's still excellent value for money.
NewquayFox Posted 14 March 2021 Posted 14 March 2021 Think he cost Chelsea £50+ million, might be out of our price range to buy, would be a great loan signing... 1

st albans fox Posted 14 March 2021 Posted 14 March 2021 The salary isn’t that relevant for a free agent - the market will dictate what he can ask for the s/o fee for him and his rep is what counts ...... 1

danny2997 Posted 14 March 2021 Posted 14 March 2021 Rumours that Saul from Atlético is on the move. Maybe a tad ambitious but would give us a very high quality experienced head in midfield.

Quoted by some sources as leaving for 30 million euros or so, so shouldn't be a problem financially. Just a question whether we could persuade him or not, which yeah probably not but one can dream.
Deeg67 Posted 14 March 2021 Posted 14 March 2021 30 million is not even close. And he can pick and choose where he goes, if he goes - he's not leaving Atletico for a smaller club. Literally only 8-10 teams in the world that would have any chance.

For that reason, he can get in the bin. 3

RowlattsFox Posted 15 March 2021 Posted 15 March 2021 If we do look for a centre back and we continue with 3 at the back then we need someone who looks more comfortable as the left sided centre back. I'm not sure what it is, but Soyuncu looks a lot more uncomfortable there. He would love to the middle as Evans is phased out a bit.

Potentially it’s just playing in a 3 he needs to adjust to as he prefers to be on the left of a 2, I’m sure he’ll adapt to be fair

I remember speaking with @Muzzy_Larsson regarding Edouards' reaction to not coming here at the start of this season, and @Muzzy_Larsson said there was no kicking off and no expectation of dissent to come from Edouard, as he wasn't that type of player. I suspected at the time there was probably an agreement in place for him to leave at the end of this season, and was the reason he was comfortable with the situation. In view of this you can, to some extent, understand the drop off in respect of performances and his bout of Covid and his long recovery from the illness, perhaps has not helped, in the perception of his overall application throughout the season.
