....to be honest, if we are suggesting that Evans is available then you would be intimating we are going to play a back three!!!

Let Chelsea prepare for that, as we will be playing (I feel sure we will) a back four and it will suit us much better and allow us to settle quicker on the day.

Did you put "quit" in Google translate?

 

I reckon "Vulpes numquam cedunt" but my Latin GCSE was over 30 years ago.

I disagree, as they say, it's the hope that kills you and hope was virtually gone and it had an air of inevitability to it.

This feels like we are in touching distance of something special and follows a good season.

They didn't teach it at my Sixth Form, either.

 

I pursuaded a Maths Teacher with a classics degree to teach me Latin in my lunch breaks and free periods.

I get the point you are making. I remember Diego Simeone risking Diego Costa in a Champions League final where they hauled him off after just 10 minutes, and also think Pochetino made a mistake starting Harry Kane in Spurs Champions League final. But I would imagine that if Evans did break down early, it will be Albrighton coming on at RWB and Castagne going to RCB. Evans is the type of player that could be the difference between winning and losing the game and is one of our leaders on the pitch. For that reason I think he will be risked if he can play through the pain barrier. 

I can’t be bothered looking it up, but if we have 5 subs in the FA Cup (do we??) then if he can walk & run, Evans starts. The risk are proportionally greater if we only have 3 subs, obvs 🙄

Only me struggling to get excited by this? Just doesn't feel like an upcoming final should. At least there will be some fans I suppose.

 

In general though I feel like the 'magic of the cup' isn't really the same any more. Can't put my finger on why.

You will be on the day, just think the past couple of weeks as been all focus on top 4... so kind of made it tough to get that excitement for the cup going.

Is it the fact it isn't the last game of the season? Feels wrong to be playing a defining and no doubt draining match then more crucial league games to play.

Well done to all who managed to get tickets for this have a safe journey down enjoy getting back to supporting the Amazing Foxes, make a hell of a lot of noise in London make sure you cause a Richter scale movement of great proportions & make more noise than those Chelski fans !

 

I’ll be cheering on from home a few cold ones in the fridge wishing our lads luck and bring home that Historical Trophy !!

It's ridiculous that this isn't after the final game. If you lose it, it can roll over to the league's games immediately after. Even if you win you can't celebrate properly with their being a huge game a few days later and they'll probably be an inevitable come down. Massive benefit for Liverpool that us and Chelsea are in the cup final.

In the league, I am just a nervous wreck all the time. With this Final, I am genuinely just excited at the chance of winning it! Really looking forward to it and seeing how Rodger's sets us up and how the boys respond. As others have said, it just feels made for a Vardy winner and a perfect Hollywood ending to his already incredible rise to the top.

Jonny Evans started the 2009 and 2010 League Cup Finals for Manchester United (won both), but he has never played in an FA Cup Final, because Man U didn't get to any between 2007 and 2016.

I've spent the week trying to condition my brain to brush the possible cup final defeat off should it happen, not to get fed up and dwell on it for days, maybe weeks

And at the same time, should we win it, try to prolong that feeling of euphoria that comes along every morning after when you wake and remember

 

Not easy!

The forecast is for rain on Saturday, so not sure if that helps Leicester? With the 5.15pm kick-off, and possible need for floodlights early on, it's not going to look like the typical sunny Wembley occasion.

I'm excited for it, but 100X more nervous about the league game - I'd take a result there over tomorrow every day and twice on Sunday.  I get the historical significance of never having won the cup (especially for the old-timers) and I'd love to see it happen.  But especially after choking it away last year, making the CL is incalculably huge for the future of the club.  That's my main focus.
