If they take points from them it’s akin to removing essences of competition and achievement - the very thing that was being fought against.

It also punishes players and fans - not sure that is the way to go.

For me we should perhaps consider a suspended sentence and the introduction of new regs to stop this happening again. I would put in both financial and points deduction penalties for any instance of improper conduct by the clubs involved moving forward for say the next 4 years.

Something that says - ‘put a foot wrong and you’ll be relegated and won’t receive TV or league monies for a year or two.’

There won’t be a point deduction, no chance and those comparing it to administration are missing the point. It’s not a just point, but it’s realistic, as these clubs are essential to success of this league and the CL. I get it’s both fashionable and just that clubs should be punished so, but I can see no world that this happens, and view it far more important to:

  • Remove the elements responsible from such clubs
  • Put legislature/measures in place to prevent it happening again

Be happy enough if both points were implemented

....who would be responsible for this!!!

The with a points deduction, will be when to apply it.

Bottom half teams will want it now, as it limits the chances of them going down this season, therefore boosts income.

In fact, all clubs might prefer this season, as every place is worth an additional “X” ££££’s, which would be beneficial coming off the back of Covid.

Since they wanted to set up like the NFL, there should be an NFL-style dispersal draft.

Each of the Scumbag Six will make their entire roster available.  The highest finishing non-Scumbag PL club will select one player from each.  Registration of each player transfers immediately.

Salaries continue to be paid by the Scumbag clubs.

We should pick Mahrez. #freemahrez

Probably been mentioned already, but I'd ban them from the CL for 2-3 seasons. Let the places trickle down and let some other clubs benefit from European money. Never happen though.

...would this not prove their point!!!

The viewer is looking to watch the best clubs play against each other, undermining the meritocracy that underpins all the leagues in Europe is not the way to achieve this. The contract from television would be greatly reduced and West Ham or Everton being viewed in the Champions League may be a fillip to these clubs but a novelty that would not be tolerated for two or three seasons.

As I have said previously, a points deduction at the end of the season should be applied, but the clubs that would most suffer from that, would be Arsenal and Spurs. The fact that we could then divide them, allows us to wrest back the initiative to a fairer and transparent football system.

Has to be points deduction and european ban for 1 season.

You cant let the owners off of this crime.  I do feel sorry for their fans but think they will begrudgingly accept it. Where we  could show leniency (if we want) is in the amount of points deductions. Perhaps keep it to 9. They essentially avoid the threat of relegation and basically keeps the title with man city (with an asterisk on the cup).

They do need to be banned from europe and the very competition they wanted to leave though. That is more of a boot to the owners.

If the owners appeal any of this  they should be ashamed. I'm sure fans from  at least the other 14 clubs would protest about that.

I think the three teams that are still "in" the Super League need to be banned for at least a season -- and what are they going to do, play each other 12 times next year? I am not sure about the rest, because technically the Super League still exists, and their lawyers are trying to get them out of it without a penalty (and the bank will probably help them with this.) But no need to force the issue on them and make them say "I guess Super League is our only out." A points deduction that gives Man City the title, but drops a few of them out of the European spots, I could really support.

I also think all 12 clubs should have their UEFA club coefficients returned to 0. Let them earn them back over time, if they are able (Sorry Spurs and Arsenal).

Feel like we are some sort of scabs, they are just going to either sit on the fence or snuggle up and let them get off the hook.

Well we’ve got previous on this - the foreign TV money split we supported the big six getting a higher cut

This isn’t a bad suggestion at all

Any European ban would probably just get overturned by CAS.

Look at Man City last season, they got away without a scratch.

That scenario though was very different. Man City were guilty but the evidence and examples were considered ‘time locked’ - more than three years old.

First punishment to be dished out today. Upon the final whistle of today’s cup final, as the winning team have made the exhausting climb up the steps and got to receive the trophy, it will quickly whipped away ceremonially and the presenting dignitary announce “nah,  tell your boss i said **** off, *****”

If it’s spurs who win the said dignitary will don the ceremonial glove of fair competition and proceed to punch Harry Kane in the face repeatedly.

Hesitate to suggest something sensible with uefa being involved but it's quite easy. Just apply any sanction that involves a ban to the next time a particular team qualifies.

If it's a one year ban for instance then Man U, man c, Chelsea would defo be banned next year, but arsenal's ban would be held over until they next qualify.

There’s been a lot of debate over what would be a fair punishment and I actually have the perfect soloution.

They all wanted to break away and play together in a super league... well your wish is my command.

All clubs involved are forced to play in the Europa conference league!!! That’s one way to add some incentive to a meaningless competition

well except arsenal as they aren’t even qualifying for that lol

Think a fitting punishment would be to have to lose their managers and have a draw to get one of Pardew, Mark Hughes, Tim Sherwood, Peter Taylor, John Carver and Iain Dowie for the season

Their NFL style draft

If there is no points deduction, this will set a massive precedent for any clubs that are faced with points deductions in the future. Nobody should be fined or lose points for going into administration going forwards, if they are, they should be easily able to appeal it.

These clubs wanted to enter a competition that would give them access to an extra 300 million a season and still compete in our league lol The cheek of it. Not wanting to punish them is severely weak and is purely self serving, just like the 6 clubs who wanted to sweeten their situation. Principles over self gain every time for me.

I’d be content if each of the club owners were made to lick a dogs’ sweaty testicles for the duration of the half time break for the first ten games of next season
