Very much in favour of this. A great pro, great character and always gives his all, with no complaints about pitch time.

Oh and he's also one of our Champions. And scored our first Champions League goal.

Can we just clone him already and have another, younger Albrighton take up his mantle some day?

Deserves it 100%. He's that new Andy King figure - a calm, respected head the young guns can learn a lot from. His wand of a crossing foot alone also makes it worth keeping him around. Still the best we've had in the modern era, bar maybe Steve Guppy.

Nuts to think he's been written off by many in recent years - admittedly I myself thought his time with us was probably at an end this past summer - but he's gone on and had arguably his best season for us in a blue shirt. G'won Sharky.

His place in our history is well secured at Leicester. What an astute signing he's been for us, and for free.

It just proves bargains are always available if you look closely enough.

Every squad needs players like Mark who are coming to the end of their careers.

What I'd call competent squad fillers who can still have an impact when needed.

He's earned the right to whatever Contract he gets.

Always a positive influence when he comes on the field. Can't tell you how many times this season he has  changed the tempo of a match with his incredible work ethic. Man presses like a wild animal. Wouldn't be where we are without him.

At 31 and still a year left on his contract, Im not sure we need to offer him a new deal yet. As much as he has contributed this season, I think I would see how he is playing by December before making the call on a new deal.

I think he’d be happy to be a bit part for a CL club next year. Great guy and puts a real shift in.

If I could script it, Kevin would score the winner in the cup final.

I’m saving that job for Vardy in my script.

Yeah, that would be a great end to the movie and who could begrudge the goat a chance to further cement his place in LCFC folklore?

My case for Marc is this:

Released from his boyhood club, to the great escape, to being a pivotal member of the immortals and then to scoring our first ever Champion's League goal.

Despite this, Marc is rarely seen as much more than a prosaic squad player.  Marc is the Ringo to Vards and Riyad's Lennon/McCartney.  He's the fat one from Take That. Unheralded but gets the job done.

Subsequent managers have tried to upgrade on him, numerous players have tried to unseat him yet he continues to plug away, like a dripping tap, uncomplaining, and with that Teutonic work ethic of his until we realise that the safe pair of hands, the comfortable old shoes, the old reliable Marc Albrighton was the better option all along.  If that is faint praise, it isn't supposed to me.  He is more than that.

Marc is among the last of the old guard.  He's been with us every step of our crazy journey since 2014.  He's the nice guy.  Apparently Marc is the one that will always stop and give of his time in the media centre post match as others hurry through, headphones on, looking at the floor.  Add in a dash of personal tragedy and I think it would be nice for Ringo to take centre stage.  For Marc's name to be remembered through the generations and to get the glory for once.

In truth of course, I couldn't care less if the winning goal ricochets in off the referee's backside just so long as we win it.

He’s become a real Foxes legend over the latter part of his career . Great spot to get him on a free but then NP wouldn’t pick him at first . IIRC his missus complained on  social media at his treatment by the club which would normally guarantee further marginalisation but the rest is history . I’m sure he’ll be a decent asset for a while yet , keeps himself fit for every game and has a great attitude
