Bloody hope he isn't.

He can't leave Trent out, no way, man is in ridiculous form for Liverpool.

JWP sits in if Henderson is out.

He shouldn't, but that would mean him leaving out one of his favourites in Walker, James and Trippier. Unless he goes full bottle job and takes all 4 lol

Obviously not the time to try it in a tournament but would like Alexander-Arnold to have a go in a midfield for England and see what happens.

Based on what I've seen this season and the fact I'm the kind of person who'd happily concede 4 goals trying to score 5 I'd go with something with a delicious amount of pace and talent. Go out there and entertain the world!

Johnstone

James

White

Stones

Chillwell

Bellingham

Rice

Sancho

Foden

Grealish

Rashford

In reality it'll be something closer to

Pickford

James

Maguire

Stones

Shaw

Mount

Rice

Phillips

Rashford

Kane

Sterling

Usually love international tournaments where I become hopelessly confident of England's chances but we have one of the most inept coaches in the game and a squad of players that he's proven he's prepared to ignore regardless of ability.

At least with Hodgson, although he did a fairly poor job he picked on the whole a decent squad and often put together a team that was about the best XI there and not horribly defensive. Southgate has the most ridiculous attackers, wingers and ACM's at his disposal and yet he'll still pick 5 defenders and 2 holding midfielders.

I actually despise him, he's so far out of his depth it's astonishing. If he ever pitches up as Leicester manager I'll smear myself I fish paste and jump in a piranha tank.

33 picked then.

Ramsdale is a shock.

Thank God Dier has been dropped, but Mings over Konsa isn't great

No LCFC involvement then. JJ and Harvey would definitely have been there if they weren’t injured. Hopefully this will encourage Maddison to sort his shit out and try getting in the WC squad.

I think we can agree that Southgate has picked the right squad when the 4th choice keeper and the 5th choice centre halves are the talking points.

I think he will go full bottle job and dress it up as Walker and James being taken as RCB's in a back 5. Meaning White and Godfrey will be cut as CB's (which was probably likely anyway)

Can only find 6 to cut personally if he goes with the above option though, so in my scenario maybe Saka doesn't go?

Will cut Johnstone, Godfrey, White, JWP, Watkins, Coady and Saka

I think the 7 to go will be:

Ramsdale

Trent

Godfrey

White

Henderson

Watkins

Greenwood

If Maguire doesn’t make it then I’d have Godfrey in.

We aren't blessed with keepers right now. Who else would you have at number 5?

I'd have liked Darlow or Forster who have been better this year than Ramsdale. But it is irrelevant given he'll be dropped.

We'll get to the main arguments when the 26 is announced and James has been taken over Trent.

Have to agree with you. Sad about Trent given he is such a big talent. Greenwood would've been nice to see too, but we have too many other options Southgate won't drop

Darlow maybe, but he's not played half the season since Dubravka came back. Forster rarely plays does he? Ramsdale has played behind the worst defence in the league, he's actually a decent keeper. Sure he makes mistakes, they all do.

Not many surprises.

Tomori has been robbed though.

The second he sticks a Chelsea shirt back on he'll be back in the squad.

Id much rather take Trent over James myself but the way Southgate has been speaking faith Trent makes me feel he won’t. Trents had a great end to the season and his set pieces are phenomenal.

I've no idea how Mings seems to get in so easily. Godfrey and Tomori are far better yet you know they'll be below him on the pecking order.

Glad Dier's finally gone.

Trent should 100% be in. Yeah he's got his flaws but he can do things nobody else in our side can.

I think a lot of people are overlooking this. We’ll be out in the round of 16.

I'd love to argue the toss about this, but I can't.

France have a wonderful squad of players, Portugal's style of play tends to get the better of us and Germany, whilst going through a bit of an international lull, are still Germany. I think we could beat any of them on our day, but playing each 10 times (in tournament matches), I wouldn't see us winning 5 against any of them.

I would have us as certain underdogs against the first two and probably even Germany too. Maybe I'm just too used to watching our international failures. It would be lovely if they proved us wrong.
