Hammered him early doors but I’ve seen nothing since that’s convinced me to change my mind. 
 

For the people defending him with ‘he’s had no pre season’ or ‘he’s been injured’ are trying to defend the indefensible. He just cannot even get the basics right, for his size, he mistimes so many headers, he’s weak as anything, gets beaten / dribbled past so easily and goes diving in so many times he’s a massive liability.

I was gutted we didn’t steal him off United pre him moving to Roma. Thought we could really restore his career a bit, but now we probably need to think about bringing in an experienced head who could be another Evans-style player for us. 

 

Smalling has good experience but he’s not really an Evans type sadly.

I thought he’d be an ok experienced squad signing and I’ve held back from slating him but Christ on a bike he’d be lucky to get a game for a league 2 side  . Dreadful

What makes Vesty even more of a liability is that he forces Soyuncu to play on the right and he’s better on the left.

He really is bad. He keeps getting drawn in to tackles he's never going to win because he's so slow and then once he inevitably loses out he can't react or get back because he's soooo slow. None of his play makes sense apart from the odd quick pass through the middle.

Yeah there are loads I can think of and I’ve only been watching since 1992. For starters Vestergaard is playing in the top flight, some of the players I’ve seen at CB were that bad in the second tier

I’ve tried to see the positives with JV2 but tonight he was dreadful. 
 

Slow, terrible in the air and poor positioning. Doesn’t look like the same player as he was in the Euros

I don’t normally like to say this, but I told you so from the beginning. Actually, from the time we beat Southampton 9-0 and the moment when Nachos turned Vesty so so easily. I thought he was sh*t, and he still is.

Panic buy, bad buy. He can play but um, just not our level. Championship defender at best.

 

Id rather a much shorter danny simpson (out of position) than him lol.
