Ricardo

Soy

Vest

Thomas

Tielemans

Ndidi

Soumare

Daka

Vardy

Barnes

Blistering pace up top hit them hard in the middle with Ndidi and Soumare and get the ball forwards quickly to that front 3.

....is that a 4-1-2-1-2, or is there a typing error!!!

That format looks very narrow a bit like Southampton and you can see what can happen to them when a teams goes at them. Unless Barnes is injured I am not sure why you would leave him out and we do struggle when we lack the pace to counter or push back their full back.

We could play a 4-3-3 in this instance:

                       Kasper

Ricardo   Vest.    Soyuncu     Bertrand

     Tielemans     Ndidi      Soumare

       KDH       Vardy      Barnes

The substitutions being Nacho and Daka.

KDH is not playing as a winger, just feeding and creating from the right. You do not need a £40m+ Winger to be effective in this team, just someone with intelligence.

Yeah I'd put Barnes behind vardy and kelechi. My mistake

We will win this.

how is a bit of a mystery to me right now but we're due and will end round 2 on 6pts and cue a tidal wave of optimism on here with Perez nabbing an assist.

What an idiot!

would love to see what West Ham team would be put out if they had our injuries last season.

Hes right about how Vardy struggles against a deep block but when you become a good team opponents treat you with respect and play that way against you.

Vestergaard still not fully fit after a late start to pre season training

Sounds like Danny boy stays in the team and starts then.

Rodgers has said Castagne is available, will be interesting to see what happens there:

- 3412 with Castagne as RCB and Ricardo as RWB?

- 4231 with Castagne ahead of Luke Thomas at LB?

- 4231 with Castagne RB and Ricardo as RW?

- 4231 but Castagne doesn't start and comes on after 60? (probably the most likely)

Wouldn't want a not fully fit Castagne anywhere but on the bench tbh. Despite his previous supposed ability to cover the left back position I felt he did a job there at best. JJ was far better and even Thomas if both fit offers more I think. As for playing out of position as centre half, he was pretty useless tbh and I'd sooner have Armarty there.

                           Kasper

Ricardo       Amartey    Soyuncu         Castagne

                             Ndidi

            Tielemans           Maddison

                            Barnes

                 Iheanacho          Vardy

Would like to see a diamond to start with Barnes given license to roam but revert to 4-3-3 if not working. Iheancho goes to the right and Barnes left.

Swap Castange for Albrighton or Perez and that's what the line up will be.

We're not actually going to start Amartey routinely are we? Feels harsh given we've kept 2 clean sheets so far but when people say 'he's got a mistake in him' they usually mean the player could make one at any given time. With Big Dan it means he will make at least one per game. That's fine when you've come off the bench for 15 mins or are playing wherever in an injury crisis, less so when you have a choice.

Until Vestergaard is closer to full fitness or Evans is back in contention I think he starts. More palatable in my opinion than moving Ndidi there or going to a three to accommodate Castagne or Bertrand at centre back. My guess is Vestergaard on the bench on Monday and then starting against Norwich.

I reckon this is what Brendon will go for. He's spoken about trying to get Ricardo and castange on the same side before. I'd like to see nacho as his record against West ham is very good and it's a shame for him to come on to try to save a game , but I think you're spot on with this in terms of what team Brendon will put out
