I think Ndidi's injury worked in our favour today, when you've got a back three you really need more from the two central midfielders and Soumare seemed to use the ball much better. Another thing that was crucial was Ricardo and Castagne as wing backs, it's the only time I can see that formation working you only have two players providing width so they need to be super fit and comfortable attacking.

Just got back. What a finish from Vards. I mean Youri's reply to Greenwood was sublime, but that was reminiscent of peak JV. My vocal chords are in shreds.

Excellent time wasting from Rodgers by bringing on Vestegaard. Easily took him 10 minutes to run onto the pitch and get in position.

Really great performance which we managed to keep up for the whole 90 minutes.

 

Was really impressed with Kelechi and Maddison before they got took off but both replacements affected the game well so kudos to Perez! 
Daka will turn out a really great buy so have patience as he isn’t going to be starting ahead of vardy until he goes off form!

Rodgers having the international break to regroup, give his head a wobble and remember why he's one of the best coaches in the country couldn't have come at a better time.

 

To a man we were excellent today, plenty more to improve on but we played aggressive and positive football and I'm absolutely buzzing. Evans being back possibly gave us thst initial confidence but it was some stunning performances. Maddison and then Perez in the 10 role today were immense.

Very much doubt I was the only one happy to see Maguire have an absolute stinker today. Iheanacho was all over him like a rash and Maguire got shit scared pretty much each time he was on the ball. 

 

Pleased to see Ronaldo kept quiet too. Back 3 worked very well as if he escaped the attention of one of them, there'll be someone else to pick him up. Barely got a look in.

Superb backtracking 😁

 

It's a perfectly good system for us as today has shown. Worked fine when we beat united and Chelsea in the cup too 👍
