It won't be 4-3-3, it will be the same painful 4-2-3-1 we had at the start of the season with Soumaré at 10.

Rodgers hasn't played 4-3-3 since we looked really good with it pre-lockdown, it's been a number 10 behind a striker ever since in a 4atb. It doesn't sound a major difference on paper, but when you have Tielemans/Ndidi operating 20 yards away from a number 10, it is largely impossible to get the ball through the lines.

In possession, it will be a 3-4-3, with Ndidi dropping and the wing backs pushing on. I'm sure of it.

Good or not they need to up their game because that's why we've not been winning not the formation.

I can't help but feel random is literally the right word.

I know Ndidi does change his perception of how we can line up but jesus wtf.

Sticks obsessively with 352 against teams we obviously need to break down where we're going to dominate possession.

Then reverts back to 433 to go away to Leeds who fvcking dicked us last time we played a high line and a back four, yet whom we murdered last time we played a low blocking 352.

I really don't get it sometimes.

Yeah I agree with you here.

Our best result against Leeds was playing a deep block with Vardy and Barnes up top for the counter threat. And it worked superbly! Then they turned us over at the KP when we tried to out football them. Why hot just stick to what works? We can still have Ndidi in a 3412 / 352.

On paper 433 is still a good system, but we aren't used to playing it yet, and I'm not sure given our current form and opposition (plus being away from home) is the way to go. Maybe to give Rodgers some credit, with our defence in tatters form wise and with us almost guaranteed to concede at least one goal a game, he doesn't want to play a system where we try to hold on / nick something.

It's great we've been so versatile with our formations, but it feels like trying anything so that something sticks. Then finally when 3412 looks like that might be the answer, we abandon it, admittedly after consecutive poor home games.

Let's see how it goes anyway.

Looks more like this to me:

                                  Schmeichel

Ricardo              Evans            Soyuncu             Castagne

                      Ndidi                           Soumare

        Lookman              Tielemans                  Barnes

                                       Vardy

Tielemans in a 10?

Honestly will be flabbergasted if we can’t win with this team

If this exciting attack intent team can't

Cut it..with the cover of Nacho/Maddison/ Daka & big Dan, KDH in the locker....

We have nothing else to offer..Then we really aren't as good as we make out to

believe...This is a must performance

For the players & team...Rodgers has

thrown down the Gauntlet..

Soyu..Evans..Ndidi..Barnes have to deliver. Barnes especially has to drop that young potential yoke, and become the go to man...Lookman/Soumare in those supporting but driving roles..

Rodgers then has to roll with it..

Amartey can cover the 2 CBs if injuries or form are questioned..

Agree... we can play any formation but if the level of effort is lacking we come unstuck

Tielemans in a 10?

 I don’t think so.

I think without a defensive minded winger Brendan only wants 3 attackers.

JM would be playing if he wanted that formation

Ricky P and Timmy 😍🤩

Pleased for Lookman, he is always positive and tries hard. Hope him and Barnes are the quickness we need from the start.  Ndidi and Soumare to help Youri get more forward. I like this!

Please please please start positively and with fight and determination! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

We played three at the back at Elland Road last season and won 4-1.

But this season we revert to a back four

I dont know whether you have noticed but last season is much different to this season.

Therfore change is needed because this team is currently only playing at 30%

It’s still a premier league game and Leeds will be a very tough opponent. We can’t just expect us to pick a team a win. Everyone needs to do their jobs, for me BR has done his by picking his best team when we could do with a win.

The players need to put the work in now.
