No idea where the 10 million figure comes from 8,000 brings in about 4 million another 2 million which is optimistic for the extras less all the staffing costs. Wouldn't even pay any where near the interest payments on the loan that would be required to build it.

You said 10000 seats lol. Well you're looking at 20 games on average (we'll assume we're in the prem and playing at least 1 game at home), and you be looking at £50 a ticket on average when you factor in the cost of those holding a box and the fact that this stand would have the most expensive tickets for sure. That's £10m. Let's knock it down to £8m to account for the actual 8000. Still an awful lot more than the £4m you quoted.

So you ignore all the other potential income benefits and then talk about the immediate ROI. So what's the ROI on Seagrave? Been there nearly 5 years and made £0 from it. The running costs of that place will be massive and it's used every day which means more full time staff, maintenance etc. Perhaps not on the level of the stadium expansion, but a lot of those staff will be doing things that are connected to earning revenue.

And if we're talking about interest rates, the whole point was if they built the stadium first in which case interest rates were stupidly low and it absolutely would have brought in money that covered the cost of those interests rates multiple times over. You keep changing the goal posts but the outcome is the same: a stadium expansion is a better and safer investment that a training ground.

It’s essentially the only way to grow the club in this new psr era. And even if we have a duration in the championship, the extra income from gigs and sporting events will pay its way.

I would argue we are at a place in our history where having spare seats is actually needed, bring back quids for kids. Free tickets for community services. Encourage international groups to come along for a day out. Set up a reciprocal leuven trip

Those opportunities allow you to attract the next generation of fans. There’s so many people now, who can’t afford to bring their kids, so they will all slip into supporting Chelsea or man city or whoever  is the flavour of the generation.

when I come over with my family, It’s currently a tall order to bring my 2 kids and wife. But if we do spend a decade struggling, they should all have buy in to the club because of the great family trips we had… but that can’t happen if there  are no tickets or we don’t want to spend a fortune. The club needs generational support and it’s hard to do that currently

Completely agree! I got into football going to filbert street to watch the reserves. And eventually moved on to watch the first team.

You just pluck figures out of the air, the average price for a season ticket is £450 as some are children. The training ground is vital to a club leicesters size and we are starting to see the benefits. Of course it would be nice to see a bigger ground, but the financial benefits are small. We rake in less than 20 million per season for gate receipts. It is a shame we didn't get both

It’ll be nice considering that when we have 20k people on a 40k seater stadium. At least we have a hotel and arena there.

This is never going to be the case unless we have a prolonged spell in the EFL again. Good job we didn't abandon plans for the Raw Dykes development because we only got 17k for a league cup semi final. ST sales would top 30k in a 40k stadium based on general interest alone.

If we'd gone building the extension first we'd now be having the same discussions in reverse - attracting top talent and having a successful academy is impossible with 2nd rate facilities.

And again, equating Seagrave with a drop off in form is simply 2+2=5. No-one mentioned that when we were finishing in the top 6 or in Europe. The drop off coincided with greedily abandoning our financial model chasing instant success and backing it with pisspoor recruitment. The spiral since 2021 has matched our increasingly poor transfer activity.

I get what you are saying, but we went into administration after getting relegated and building the new stadium, a few years later we did then have the scenario where we were averaging around 20k in this stadium.

Our season tickets are currently very reasonable for the level of team

we are, and yet the number of people wanting one has started to slide off.

On your first sentence, that’s exactly what I fear we are in for and should be cautious not to do this.

Are people being serious  when they say we should go ahead with this now?

if we are struggling  to break even right now.. like this season… where is the money coming from to build it?  get it that renovation costs are not  going to cost towards PSR , but king power are flat broke and we don’t even have a shirt sponsor!. If we had stayed up, I’d have said yes but it would be suicide to do this right now.

Have we ever had an answer to why the stadium expansion didn’t happen, or is it the usual we don’t talk to the fans

The accounts and KP’s situation speak for themselves

Who is Williams?

Thankfully the chief finance expert at EFL Analysis, Adam Williams, has made several revelations regards the Foxes home base. Big things are planned in Leicestershire, and that includes growing everything about the organisation. The Srivaddhanaprabha family, who own and operate LCFC, have grand designs.

I See Forest have had their plans approved also, we were years ahead of these guys a couple of years ago. Building costs and building materials are too high. So how can these guys afford it? Just the owners putting their money where their mouth is?

Its not that hard to fund a stadium.  Its also basic common and business sense that the costs wont go down in the future, so if you want it as cheap as possible you do it ASAP.

Pushing a stadium back basically means we not doing it, but some dont get it.

Sadly we heading back to being behind these clubs, like when when we had the lower capacity Filbert Street, really bad decision making from the owners to not exploit our success. 30k is the new 20k.

Never happening. Planning permission just a way of raising the book value of the club, hotels  flats etc  possibly before a sale.

Fictitious 'business plan' to show projected income and bloated asset values of land and buildings. Nothing to do with football.

One of the only ( must be others ) sensible post in 134 pages of guff and nonsense.

This poster gets it.

A more proactive council would be needling KP to get on with it to be honest. It's a very important project for the city's regeneration and would generate so much in the way of jobs and income from visitors.

Then again, they're too busy trying to pretend the Market never existed until people forget about that. And there's all that time and energy they've wasted trying to get us a (tiny) boxpark ten years after every other city in the country has already had theirs. Must be exhausting for them.

We know this but it seems the Hierarchy at LCFC are in denial by allowing Rudkin, Whelan and co to keep us what we are rather than what we could be, or rather what Vichai envisioned for his club to compete with the Top 6 on a regular basis rather than become a yo yo club under the present hierarchy;  it’s time for Top to grow a pair and take back his late fathers club back from the ones only in it for the thrill of it rather than the love of it and get Vichai’s dream back on track and extend the stadium get more income into the club and say Fuch you to PSR !!
