If it was out of the centre practically everyone would have to travel by care, the traffic would be as bad if not worse at least now a large majority can walk or catch a single bus.

Out of centre would also mean fewer places to eat and drink,

It's fine where it is.

We really need a joined up transport system from the county towns, absolute nightmare at the moment. Went to Brighton this season, free buses and trains were included in the ticket price, proves if the will is there it can be done.

Leicester City to discover King Power Stadium development update as huge decision expected
City submitted plans for the expansion of the East Stand and the redevelopment of the surrounding area late last year

Leicester City could be given a decision on the outcome of their planning application for the redevelopment of the King Power Stadium today.

Plans have been put in place to increase the capacity of the stadium to around 40,000 with an expansion on the East Stand, as well as a significant redevelopment of the surrounding area.

City submitted detailed plans of the King Power Stadium expansion to the City council at the end of October, with a more broad outline for the redevelopment of the surrounding area following.

The plans will see a hotel, an indoor entertainment arena, a new fan store, a residential tower, a multi-storey car park and a pavilion all built.

Consultation over the plans was due to end on Wednesday, February 2 with the council confirming that was the case. It means that a decision on the outcome of the application is set to be made today [Thursday].

The council say that the decision is still due on the date initially planned, meaning that City are expected to be given an answer in the next few hours.

The club had already been given approval on two applications in order to start preliminary work at the back of the East Stand in order to prepare for the expansion.

It means that work can commence on land with the club also having approval to demolish the nearby National Grid building, providing that work is only carried out between 7:30am and 6pm on Monday to Friday, and 7:30am and 1pm on Saturdays.

Approval has also been given permission to work on electrical, gas pipework, and drainage diversions around the site in preparation for future work.

Should City now be given the go-ahead for the main plans, then work will be able to be started on the plans announced at the end of last year.

Fans will however still have a bit of time to wait until they can see the plans come to life with the earliest expected completion date for the expansion of the East stand set for the summer of 2024.

I got an email notification this morning stating...

'This email is to inform you of a change in the Status of the application eg when a decision is made.'

The application status looks exactly the same to me ie, target decision date 10/02/22. No idea what's changed :dunno:

Blimey, Everton will have built a brand new complete stadium (including draining a fair bit of  the harbour and then infilling) by 2024. Are we going to give priority for the building of the commercial (Hotel complex) side first then?

They’ll be in the championship though

No, priority is the East Stand expansion.

Doubt that 41-44 points, 36 points should be more than enough so 10 more points.

As Claudio used to say bless him 40 points, 40 Points. So yes maybe less this year unless there is a big upturn in form in a few teams below us. Didn't expect that to be any concern when the season started though.

We have restricted working hours they can probably work 24hrs a day 7 days a week on the docks.
