Yeah it may have but I'm just making the point that it's bizarre in game. I'm not upset or angry that it happened, just thought it was strange but there we go.

Well I think it’s strange that people can’t appreciate a manager during the game, who won us a our only ever top flight title without criticism but there we go.

Not everything in football is tribal, sentiment can play a big part too.

Geez you cannot blame him for the Watford errors, they was comical.

So working on that theory, BR cannot be blamed for our indifferent performances and poor defending  then 🤷‍♂️

love Claudio stood and applauded but couldn't bring myself to sing the name of the opposing manager, just a step too far for me, any other time I would

It certainly will give Ranieri a lift and it may have energised him to motivate his players a little more during the game and at half time. Every home ground should be a cauldron for the opposition and they should be made to feel unwelcome during the game. The fact that his song was deafening is bizarre and defeats the purpose of what away teams should be made to feel.

Before and after the game is fine, but Ranieri's name was being sung while Watford were taking an attacking free kick, which they nearly scored from. It's not so much what Ranieri/Watford players think, more like what our own players think (the vast majority of whom never played under Ranieri). It seems like it would be disheartening to try and defend while hearing your own fans sing the opposition manager's name.

I think the players will understand the unique nature of what was going on today…. The man who helped to mastermind the greatest ever sporting event is revered by the fans of the club no one ever thought could win the league…if they were singing David pleats name, or Mickey Adams.. of even dare I say it Nigel Pearson, then I could understand the players being upset but they’ll know what went on today…. And well we won so it can’t have disheartened the players that much really…

VB, I know where you're coming from, really, but in my opinion it was celebrating 15-16 - I'm sure the team understood that.

I think it took Vardy all the way back to 15-16.

He's a nice guy but watching his Watford team play reminds me why we sacked him. Not a good manager.

He did pretty well to win the Premier League with us then.

No mean feat considering he's such a turd manager.

Wow!..

You cannot mean that.

If you do then take a long look at yourself in the mirror.

I was being sarcastic.

I do not see the problem we sang Mark Mcghee's name for years after he left.

I was listening to the commentary on the official website as I'm away, but on the OS commentary they said Ranieri and Marc Albrighton both went up to each other and hugged each other just before Albrighton came on as a sub.

Absolutely deserved. The man is a class act.

Rodgers is a great manager, better than Ranieri, but something he could work on is trying to connect more with the fans. MON and Ranieri forged an emotional connection with us, which along with their successes is why we have fond memories of them. I'm not talking about passion, just more about showing emotion at the right times.

Actually thinking about it Pearson was similar to Rodgers. Another great manager for us, but IMO not as much of an emotional connection as MON / CR. All four will always be in high esteem by me though!

Agreed, but I would also add Jimmy Bloomfield to that list. Probably closest to Ranieri in terms of personality to all of the others.

Fabulous. What Rodgers has done for us will always be respected as it was very hard to achieve.

What Ranieri did for us was achieve a miracle in footballing terms. A God at Leicester City FC.
