I say play it, build on the positive result from yesterday, trust the youngsters and fringe players and imagine if we can pick up 6/7 points over next 3 games and remove risk of future fixture congestion then happy days.

Whilst we are down to the bare bones we have so much quality up top that we will cause Everton all sorts of problems. Plus this is a great way of blooding lots of our academy players and seeing how good they can be, these next 3/4 weeks or so could end up in unearthing another Thomas, KDH, Barnes etc and saving us millions in the transfer market.

Rodgers said none of the players out will be back for Tuesday but if there's a chance we could postpone the game then you'd not show your hand in regard to true player availability anyway.

I think we should play it, we are going to cause ourselves a world of problems if we postpone all these games in January.

Agree on not showing our hand but not sure about playing Tuesday's match vs Everton, irrespective of our injury situation.

You've highlighted the player welfare issues in the number of injuries we've had, and we'd end up playing the same core group for 5 games in 15 days, which increases the likelihood of further injuries.

If the Everton match is postponed, I think there is a good chance the match vs Burnley would likely go ahead as we'll potentially have 6 players back - Thomas, Castagne, KDH, Soumare, Daka and Soyuncu.

With the mid-season break coming up soon, gives us more time to get players back as well.

We've got 17 days off after Brighton why can't the postponed games fit in there?

1 of those weekends will be the FA cup 4th round but still leaves another weekend free during that period.

edit the other free weekend is for the 1 week winter break

29th is international break for non UEFA countries

5th is FA Cup Fourth Round

When the new date was scheduled, it seemed pretty likely it could be off again, wasn’t going to take much. If we want it off, it will be off.

Lot of people seem to think it’s not right if it’s not Covid related but it’s been in the rules for plenty of time and it’s just an application of that rule.

As you say, nothing to do with Covid. It's available players, period. If a over a dozen are injured, same problem.

If we have no defence, which it doesn't look as though we will have, we should not play the game.

We may be good going forward but at the top level the defence will shell at least 3 if not more

Saturdays game may be possible if Timmy, Patson, Cags and hopefully KDH and Thomas are back

A back four of this gets through Burnley, that’s true:

Castagne

Soyuncu

Vestergaard

Thomas

I'd probably try and play it if I was brendan. They are in complete disarray, are without Calvert-lewin, played 120 minutes yesterday and their fans have turned on the manager and players.

Could be a completely different proposition going there in a few weeks.

The side that won yesterday could easily eek out a result.

Hamza after yesterday?

Although I think him and Wilf are at least a penalty waiting to happen due to the position change

Wouldn't it just be like Gray to get the winner against us.

I think it'll be off but I want it to be on. I don't think it's beyond us even with this many out to beat them, it will not take much for Everton to implode at the minute.

Everton fans on Twitter getting in right uproar about our request to postpone. Just because we played a side yesterday.

They keep bringing up the darts as well, even though 3 of them played yesterday and the other 2 are injured - not covid

Absolutely glorious us having all of Merseyside on strings multiple times in less than a month lol
