Potentially Out:

Youri

Soyuncu?

Perez?

Evans?

Mendy

Albrighton?

Bertrand/Vestergaard?

They're the ones I can think of that a) want to go or b) we will want to shift or c) we receive a good enough offer for to sell ie. Youri.

Hopefully we get good enough fees to re-invest, especially given the fact we didn't buy anyone in January.

Defence generally needs heavy investment anyway.

Kasper/Evans/Vardy nearing the end of their careers. Kasper and Vardy I think should/will stay til they retire. Evans too injury prone to be reliable, unless we sign other CBs so that he doesn't play every game. If Fofana signs a new deal that'll be massive.

Hopefully players like Maddison, Pereira, Barnes, Castagne stick around. Losing Youri is bad enough as the one big player to lose. Soyuncu has become less of a valuable asset to lose (I'd still keep him but I think he'll seek a move).

Can feel like there's a new era to build the squad around if we don't lose lots of players - Justin, Daka, Fofana, Iheanacho, KDH Maddison, Thomas, Barnes, Castagne etc...

The disadvantage of such a summer (if it pans out) is that a new squad with loads of new players doesn't always gel so quickly and may take time to do so. I just pray and hope that we reinvest wisely!

To be honest apart from Kasper and Vardy i wouldn't be too fussed on who left as they would only be leaving if A) we got top dollar for them B) they didn't actually want to be here.

The squad when fit is capable of beating any one but unfortunately us having a full squad to choose from hasn't happened enough.

If we were to sell Youri and buy 2/3 new players that strengthen the squad i wouldn't have an issue with it.

I had the feeling the club were more than ready to move Maddison on last summer, but didn't see eye to eye with Arsenal on his valuation.  Now we can't afford to lose both him and Youri in the same window.

Perez and Vestergaard are going nowhere on their wages.  We'd have to buy them out and replace them in one-for-the-price-of-two deals.  Thus I could see them staying.

I can see one of Periera or castagne going. Ricky still yet to sign an extension and there have been rumours of castagne leaving. If one goes and we get £20m I think we can easily reinvest that into a good, young player.

Deal with the players with 18 months left on their contracts first:

Kasper

Jakupovic

Ricardo (in talks to sign a new deal)

Amartey

Soyuncu

Evans

Bertrand

Mendy

Tielemans

Choudhury

Perez

Vardy

Lookman* (Either sign permanently, try another loan, or no action)

See how the squad stands when they have been dealt with; sell, renew, or keep until their contract ends

I hope we're looking at a 2018 style window when we brought in Maddison, Ricardo, Evans, Soyuncu and Ward. Benkovic and Ghezzal were the only two bad signings.

At least one major signing for defence, midfield and the wings would be great. I expect us to get a decent fee for Youri and maybe Soyuncu. Allow Perez to leave for whatever and bring through a couple more youngsters. Allow Rodgers to lay down some great foundations for whoever comes next, like Puel did.

I'm worried about next season already. Rodgers record in the transfer market is at best, hit and miss, and 'overhauls' can go very wrong. I like to call it freshening up instead.

The key will be whoever Congerton's replacement is.

Only last summer has been poor for us under Rodgers. We spent 60m on basically nothing, aside from Daka, none of the players that come in imporved the first team.

But before that, in previous transfer windows under Rodgers, we signed players who have improved the first team; Justin, Castange, Fofana.

The season 19/20 we conceded 41 goals , last season 50 goals   Did we improve?

I don’t believe in huge overhauls, because you’re effectively starting again from scratch. We could become amazing or we could become relegation fodder. Evolution not revolution.

Pretty sure that the targets are all identified and under negotiation with their people ….. it will be down to the current recruitment team

it is quite hard to find a premier league club that have transfers that are all hits...would say even under Rodgers we are still in the top half at least.

i think overhaul is a bit of a creative use of the word by Tanner to be honest. 3 or 4 first team squad players leaving and 3 or 4 coming in is probably more realistic.

Add Castagne. Remove Albrighton.

We still need a squad and Albrighton is good to have around the place. Its not like we would get any decent money for him  and you just need to look at bertrand to see how these squad fillers can go wrong.

I tend to agree. I don't think this squad needs a massive overhaul either. There is plenty of quality in it, we just need reinforcements in the right areas.

I see it as more of a freshening up, as stated above. Will likely have the following players here which is a decent squad with which to build around:

Schmeichel, Justin, Ricardo, Evans, Fofana, Thomas, Ndidi, KDH, Soumaré, Maddison, Barnes, Albrighton, Vardy, Daka

Granted it’s a greater turnover than we’ve had in recent seasons but we’re halfway to having a very decent side already just needs a bit of freshening up. No European football means a lighter schedule as well so maybe won’t need such a big squad next season.

At a minimum should be targeting a CB, CM and RW, (and back up LW/ Lookman)

It might not need an overhaul. But chances are it will have to undergo one anyway given the contract situation of a lot of the squad.

Must say I'm praying Congerton has left before the summer, it's so important to not carry on with Vestergaard/Bertrand type signings.
