As miles2lcfc states this is essentially the same team with hamza coming in for riccardo and Vardy for Daka. It’s just a reflection of injuries and form. I’m still hoping Maddison is fit and less likely riccardo. Either way Application and desire is most important. This will be another tight game. I hope we win easily but I expect Leeds to defend more resolutely than of late. Amartey and cags were great against Burnley. More of the same and we win. I’d love another clean sheet. COYB 🦊

Clearly not. Our manager has played Vestergard, Bertrand and Perez in the first team at various points this season. Even with the injuries we've had those 3 donkeys are clearly not present in a strongest available 11.

I’m sure every game they have played they were in the strongest XI available. 2 of the 3 you have names their are full internationals.

Bertrand is out 3rd choice left back

Vestergaard our 6th choice CB.

These players have done a job in the past. It just hasn’t worked out for them here.

They are only playing games because of the horrendous injury list we’ve had at the back this season.

As for Perez, I actually can’t remember a single game he’s played this season other than West Ham away.

Maybe he just doesn’t fit the system we play? Maybe he hasn’t been good enough in the games he has played this season?

Maybe he just isn’t as good as Vardy and Daka - maybe it’s all of the above.

Pretty sure, managers will pick the best side they think is available and Iheanacho isn’t in our strongest 11 at all.

Maybe Rodgers has alienated him?

Surely when a player is alienated they aren’t starting games or coming off the bench?

Iheanacho still starts games in Europe and still comes off the bench regularly - doesn’t really sound like a player who has been alienated does it?

What system do we play? We seem to have a few formations why not swap kel for madders especially as he’s injured?!

Isn't that Samuel Martin guy a bit of a bullshitter?

I was going to post exactly this analogy. A lot of people taking what he had tweeted as gospel.

If that is the team, that's 4 academy players starting..... that's pretty impressive.

Rodgers has never selected four academy players in a Leicester league team previously

Could be

Kasper

Amartey

Ndidi

Souyncu

Thomas

Choudhury

Tielemans

KDH

Albrighton

Vardy

Barnes

🤷🏻‍♂️

Could make sense.

Alternatively, if Albrighton  is right back, Choudhury in the KDH role,   KDH would be freed into the Maddison  role.

This would be a fair comment if we weren't on a run of 1 win in 6 in mid table and kelechi wasn't our top scorer last season and didn't have 10 g+a this season despite getting minimal play time and being poorly treated by the manager. I would argue Kelechi is more compatible with Vardy/Daka than Barnes and lookman as well which is worrying for Dakar if we sell kelechi and build around barnes.

Four players from the Championship team, four from the academy and not one from recent transfer action. No doubt this has been noticed by Top and he is going to be very careful with the club's money going forward.

I was wracking my brains to think have we ever done that in the Premier league? I guess not.
