Looks like we are getting the important contracts sorted before the summer. I think we will have a good idea of who we are likely to be keeping and who will be moved on if we really are going for a rebuild. If Tielemans not announced in the next few weeks it will be a signal to interested parties that he and the club are open for offers.

Hopefully, KDH is next to be offered a long term deal (currently has three more years but likely only on basic squad terms). Nacho, Albrighton, and Amarty got new/extended contracts last year too, so the club is doing as much as anyone could expect to protect its assets.

Great work.

 

One must wonder though, again, why did the club only signed him on a 4 year deal in the first place when we paid so much (£30+m) for such a talented youngster.

The deal also only went ahead after we agreed to a chunky sell on fee to st etienne . So it was a bit chancy

He signed a 5 year deal when we signed him in October 2020. This is a new 5 year deal 18 months later.

We are fortunate to have one of the Worlds leading prospects in our side,

I'd put his potential as a leading player to match the success of the likes of Kante and that is a high bar to set. Clearly he won't be able to achieve that just with LC so we must expect him to either flop and be with us in 2027 or be in demand and move on in 2025 when he will be hitting his peak years and hopefully yield a peak price for the owners. Little Wes alongside Ricci is a force for good on our right hand side defensively and moving forward, just need to sort out a long terms Evans replacement and get Pope in as a KS understudy/replacement. We do rather like Leeds goal keepers after all.

We don't need a Kasper replacement. He's already with the club on loan to Preston.

Hopefully he comes back next season as our number 2 and is given a good 5-10 games to test if he is the long term replacement. The only issue is that we may well not have European football next season so less obvious games to play him in.

I'd ordinarily agree but I think we need a trial run whilst Kasper is in his last year here to see if Iversen is the one to take over.

Surely the trial run would just be to a lower end Prem side on loan
