Basically, message to everyone us don't piss your pants because Chelsea hire someone else but Rodgers. Don't set yourself up for that disappointment in your life lol

...but would Brighton want Rodgers?

He gets Brighton into Europe which he's currently well on course for and any job he wants is his. He doesn't have to take a massive risk for it.

Or he can just walk into a Champions League team right now. If he wants to be seen as a top manager then managing a top club is the next step.

Doubt Potter would have got them into Europe this season - despite their start. Think they started strongly last season too and faded, which lead to him criticizing the fans there. Think he will go for it at Chelsea but still think he could have held on for England in 23. Not sure Chelsea will have the patience he may need.

They wouldn't be stupid enough to pay anywhere near what we are paying him

They wouldn't be stupid enough to hire him for free.  Well-run club.

Sky say Potter has been given permission to talk to Chelsea .

Maybe they have been talking to him before the sacking happened ?

They will have, the Chelsea way

Learning first hand just how parasitic the big clubs are. Feel sorry for them

Yep, no plan! Just grab the hottest thing at the moment and shit him out in a year. Brighton are well run though and will have a plan

Yes so do i

Theyll be feeling a little like us when we lost Martin to Celtic

Remember that evening Pearson went to Hull?

Rumours started late afternoon, people laughed it off, then as the evening progressed and more information came out, more and more started crying, getting angry, some were still in denial. Until it was basically a done deal by that night.

Was like watching all 5 stages of grief in one night in a complete meltdown on Leicester forums at the time. Imagine Brighton forums will be the same right now.

Interesting condemnation of the state of top level football on the Brighton forum.

People commenting he won`t leave until his project is done

Someone responded, "Isn't the Brighton project done?"

Where else could they go? Not to a title, short hit and miss journey into Europe? Getting less and less likely with the recent financial changes/restricitons

The shops is closed, so good managers at non-big-clubs have to move to progress

I can understand why some of them might think he won't go but I can't see him turning the job down.

Surely any manager worth their salt thinks they will be able to cut it, and he's bound to get a much bigger paycheck.
