What's happened to me? I've watched the team play this season! We've been poor. I'd give us a D at best as a grade for the season. This is the worst Everton team of all time in the Premier League but they got 4/6 points against us. The Spurs defeat, the calamitous set pieces, the FA Cup exit to Forest of all teams, going out to Roma without laying a glove on them, etc, etc.

If fans are booing the manager and players, they are entitled to. Most managers would have got sacked after a season like this. I'm not saying he should be, but our owners won't mess about if they think there's an issue.

Today was both a good result and a good performance, so credit where it is due. But it's against a team that sit dead last with a goal difference of -53 coming into this game, and who could easily have taken the lead on the stroke of half time.

Agree with your first paragraph, but you have to scratch below the surface at least a little.  I'm sure that fairly early in in most coaching manuals, playing a settled team is a basic instruction, something we've barely been able to do all season.

Ref your second para., we don't have Watford's owners, and finishing in the top half of the league, after such an injury littered season is disappointing admittedly, but we need to be realistic  Fortunately, I believe Top is also..

You state "Norwich could have taken the lead on the stroke of half time", with no mention of the fantastic saves from Gunn, which prevented us from taking taking a two or three goal first half lead.   Football is full of "could haves and should haves", otherwise it would just be a matter of adding up the stats and awarding the points.

I'm not intentionally p1ssing on the collective chips, but did you see how Vardy finished the match? - he could hardly run and clearly had a problem with that persistent groin issue he has. I hope I'm wrong but I fear we see him again this season.

Pray for our lord Vardy!

I think you missed the bit at the end when he jumped up for a defensive header and landed awkwardly. That was the issue nothing else.

Arm - made him look he was doing his groin thing he does but he hurt his arm judging from the chat he had with Rodgers

Did find the lack of a 2nd and 3rd sub a bit of a head scratcher

Many many empty seats. Imagine when the expansion happens. @Chocolate Teapot

You've been waiting all season to write that 🤣

Yes a meaningless mid week game against a relegated side absolutely proves this doesn't it you plank.

A few general musings from me - actually enjoyed the second half once a few players finally started to show signs of their confidence coming back. Castagne and his determination deserves big credit recently as a stand out.

1 - One benefit at the lack of regular ticket holders going was it appear that a number of children were there, more than normal, good to see given the ticketing ‘lockdown’

2 - Good to see a ref whose lost weight to become fitter for the role. Simon Hooper looks like he’s lost about three stone.

3 - I used an E-bike to get into town after dropping my car off around Narborough Road. Good fun that cruising down Great Central Way into Bede Park and DMU

4 - Had a bit of a trip down memory Lane parking my car towards Rowley Fields. That walk through the terraced houses, past the constitutional club, under the freight rail bridge. Lots of memories as a child going Filbo and an undercurrent of how football was

IF we manage to get up to 8th this season, it will look relatively tame for how shit its really been.

We won't get 8th unless we win all of our remaining games including at Chelsea (very unlikely) or Wolves fail to beat Norwich at home at the weekend (just as unlikely).

Good to see us turn it in after we went 1-0 up. The players clearly haven’t thrown in the towel.

I’m struggling to get too carried away though when Norwich were as bad as they were, beyond a couple of decent counter attacks. They were very open and lacking physicality, which is a dream for us.

It won’t drastically change peoples opinions on the manager, especially after the first half, but maybe it’s a start to a strong finish.

Amen to this. Some people are just never happy. Fact is, some people simply need something to be able to moan about.

If its not the manager, its clappers. If its not clappers, its fans being old. We're a frighteningly entitled bunch.

We won. Happy days.

Doesn't change much but good to win and score a few. First half we looked all over the place but Mendy coming on settled us and we looked better.

Glad we can now put the season aside in terms of anything to play for.

Last night was a good fixture for us because we could score a few

Should up the confidence in the strikers cos they still know where the goal is

First half had the feel of e pre-season friendly it could easily have been 2-2 at half time. The second half we were loads better.

I wasn't able to go last night due to work commitments so I've no idea how we played.

That said, it's going to take more than a win against last placed Norwich to change my opinion on Brendan, I'd expect us to beat them.. not hope we can get a result.

LCFC website just "corrected" the official attendance from 38,092 to 30,892.

And if there were 30,892 in the ground last night ... then I'm the Pope!

(obviously just counting tickets sold.   I reckon, more like 26,000 actually in the ground)

Rodgers out, I’m disappointed with a win due to his boring play style, should have scored more against a side that poor. Get him out!

Your talking absolute no nonsense  ,why on earth do you want BR out ,it doesn't matter who we get in as manager of our club ,fans like you will always be negative towards anyone who comes in .

“Fans” like him are under the impression that the worlds top coaches are just waiting for Leicester to call, so they can leave their current teams.

Not happening.

In fact, I’m not sure anyone worth a damn would willingly come to a club that fires a manager after the season of injuries we’ve had.

Of course, I suspect he’s not a fan - so he may be hoping we bring in Big Sam

In my day, we used the pedals

Pedals? You were lucky...... In my day we couldn't afford a real bike, we used to make bike out of rolled up newspaper and broken bricks stuck together with dried sewage. But it were bike to us!

Anyone know the official attendance. All the websites are reporting 38,092 which is obviously false. Presuming 28,092.

I think you'll find the "official" attendance figure is based on ticket sales. Those who have bought a ticket but unable to attend will still be counted.

More drivel you plank, during my lifetime of watching my team I have sat through Mclintock, Pleat, Taylor, Levein and I could go on. However I knew we were crap then, I expected to see crap and was rarely disappointed. This was different, I travelled to Rome, spent a fortune to watch a very talented nearly fully fit squad put in such an abject performance topped off by bewildering tactics that I was fuming which is a rarity.I think we all knew what would happen against Everton, a demoralised rudderless team vs a rubbish side fighting for their lives, and we were not wrong. For the first time in many years I decided not to attend having been bored Sh****** for most of the season.

I decided not to throw even more of my hard earned cash at it getting to and from the game and all the other associated costs. However you somehow seem to think it’s shameful that I did not attend, despite the fact I was approached by a fellow forum member who when seeing I was not going asked if he could have my ticket for his mate and I was only too happy to oblige.
Did you go to Rome and if so how did you feel coming out of the ground and the following days?

Ditto. I didn't even go to Rome and felt like that. As you say, a big difference before was that we knew with the players we had we could only reasonably expect a certain level of performance. Occasionally we got a surprise 🤣. Nevertheless,  you'd continue to go down and get behind the team.

This season has been quite different for me personally for the reasons you state. Firstly, I still honestly believe that we have some very talented players who are being mismanaged and that the style of play is pointless and bores me senseless and I get angry about the whole situation, a relatively new experience for me at the football because I'm quite laid back really. Square pegs, round holes, poor tactics, bizarre team selections and substitutions all put the dampers on it and then to be told at the end it was all the players fault 🤣🤡. At least KDH wasn't at left back last night, another stunner of managerial thought. The result however merely papered over the cracks.

Yeah but they'd be a bit silly announcing 32,000 when it was quite obvious there were thousands of empty seats in the home end and a half full away end.
