definitely food for thought. At the end of the day we aren’t and never should be a charity. if the youth are good enough to start on merit give them a chance.

But i don’t really want to see people chucked on for the sake of it

Our fixtures look favourable compared to others in that pack as Watford look set for 19th, Chelsea look set for 3rd and Southampton look set for 15th.

I think he's starting to feel the heat and just wants to get results to relieve whatever growing pressure there might be and that's why he didn't have any academy lads on the bench.

I can't blame him for doing that either, I may add.

After 70 minutes, the game was pretty much over and done yesterday evening.

Norwich weren't attacking much and we were passing it about at the back again.

If he was so minded, Brendan could have brought two academy subs on without causing much damage, I would suggest.

Missed a couple of tricks here. The one as you mentioned but also the chance to go and get some more goals which would have kept up the momentum, positivity and helped for GD if needed. Appreciate the players are human are going to take their foot off the gas somewhat but the best teams keep going (look at Man City scoring goals late on when they already have the game wrapped up) and things just seemed a bit flat by the end.

I remember a few seasons back, last game v Bournemouth, competing for the difference three points could make between 8th and 9th I think, the 1-1 made Bournemouth 9th and us 12th, Wasilewski was on the bench, the world and its wife wanted him to get on the pitch but he didn't because it seemed the points were more important than the sentiment. we bought on Amartey for Benalouane, it's not like Was would have been out of his depth even at that stage of his career. It meant his last contribution had been being sent off for elbowing Costa the previous September...in hindsight a much more fitting and memorable end than playing Bore-mouth on a day where everyone just seemed knackered and running on empty tanks. Maybe the intention was to give him a few minutes based on his fitness and condition at the time which only he and the club would know and maybe circumstances of other subs went against that but I remember it being pretty Toxic (how times change) in the stands. I suppose the difference in playing a youngster is that you're potentially planting a seed for the future and giving a boost and experience that could benefit them and us moving forwards so all parties get something out of it but is it worth 2,4,6 million pounds? . At least I wasn't the one that had to tell him he wouldn't be coming on!

Brendan is aware of the pressure from fans. I’d be surprised if there weren’t some sort of internal pressure in addition. We will go to win all of these games regardless of prize money. Im not expecting to see any heavily weakened lineups.

I'm more interested than league position than prize money.

We should always be aiming for high as we possibly can regardless.

I agree, but 2.2 Million as quoted above. When your paying the Bill's its equally as important.

What pressure from fans?

You must surely be looking at some different websites to me.

Well pointed out … eight figures is real money.  It could make the difference in signing a player.  Or even just reducing debt service for the KP rebuild.

Think momentum counts for a lot. Fully fit team ends the season on a run of three wins and everyone feels slightly better going into the post-season. Limp over the line with two more defeats and everyone is glad to see the season end and feels apathetic when it comes round again.

True but similar feels for Puel 17/18

Article in The Athletic today, £44m for winning the league, with a drop of £2.2m per position after that

I have been hoping we might start using some youth or squad players in games now we have “nothing to play for”

But with how tight the middle of the table is now 1 poor result could potentially mean we miss out on an extra £11m in prize money

9th gets £26.4m, 14th gets £15.4m

A youth player that shows promise can easy save 11m, imagine having to buy a KDH.  Also how much was Chilwell sold for again?

Come winter, that won't cover the energy bill for the floodlighting of one game.

Finish 8th instead of 15th and that pays Rodgers severance package.

This poor run of form is making a lot of sense....
