Likewise

Only been there and had one good and one OK experience

The knockaert game, and the season after drawing 2-2

Seeing that Welsh dwarf Robert Earnshaw slotting in the third and doing front flips in front of the away fans still haunts me to this day.

I left at 4 that day and it was only early in the second half if I recall.

The results under Sven (I think) 2-2 (when we were 2 up) and 3-2 defeat were awful as well.

We really shouldn’t be worrying about them finishing above us and all that, if they do then I have no doubt that’ll be on us having a disastrous season. They’re in for a tough time and their greatest hope is keep the momentum get off to a good start.

They’re going to struggle to get Spence back in so that’s a key player that needs replacing and not an easy one to do either, his and Johnson’s link up down the right is about 90% of their attacking threat, they need a left wing back as currently they have Jack Colback in that role, either bring Garner back (looking unlikely) or find a replacement, and they’ll probably go back in for Davis from Villa, leaving them with Davis, Surridge, and Grabban as striking options, they’ll surely sign a centre back but Worrall an incredibly average centre back and Mckenna a Scotland reject will continue to start and in the Premier League could get exposed big time, especially Worrall.

They beat a weakened Arsenal side who are prone to a howler here and there, an injury ridden Leicester who were having regular capitulations and ran a weakened Liverpool team close, all with the motivation of being the lower league cup team with nothing to lose, be a completely different story in the league, by the end of the season I won’t be surprised if they’ll just be happy they cleared 11 points.

I think they'll be looking at aiming to have a similar season to Brentford this season. They'll have to be good at home and I think the older style grounds do help this. They beat us and Arsenal there this season and gave Liverpool a good game too. That will be key in terms of whether they stay up or not.

From our point of view two fixtures against Forest is more to look forward to than two fixtures against Huddersfield. I will never celebrate Forest doing well but that is the one benefit of their promotion. We have nothing to fear of them, it's an opportunity to beat them and drop them in trouble if they're battling to stay up - relish it.

I’ve seen the good and the not so good from them this season

They deservedly beat an Arsenal who blow hot and cold

They absolutely embarrassed us and I’m not going to use the injury excuse given we beat Liverpool at a worse time in our crisis

And they gave Liverpool one of their hardest games of last season

Equally they looked crap yesterday though; and in the second leg v Sheff Utd

I think they’ll stay up easily- a full house every other week will see to that. They certainly won’t be able to sustain the tempo that they had in the FA Cup games mentioned above all season long though.

Notts so...not such a team as

Notts Forest..only

Notts county..

There home form will be key to them staying up next season. They seemed to make it a very tough place to go since Cooper took charge and they do create a decent atmosphere. I want 6 point from them and to struggle in the relegation zone all season. Just can't stand them.

Yet the City Ground is in Notts and not in Nottingham, whereas Meadow Lane is in Nottingham. So it should be Nottingham County and Notts Forest....

Besides which, "Notts Forest" annoys them. :D

I loathe Nottingham Forest and their little short arse half a Nastro Azzuro fans but I find it insane anyone can make predictions about next season with the transfer window just opened.

Yeah proper peroni fanbase.

True..but how many a fan, including pundits, really know or aware of those

dark entwining amusing facts..

In fact it becomes a grimace instead of a grin when the Dozo saying Notts Forest are totally unaware that they are unwittingly becoming part of that twist of amusing misendeamour...

Though it must be more irritating when

the folklore humerous twist as now become coliquial fact..

Now a sort of untiable..(K) Notts..

The replaced their CEO, DoF and HoR over the past couple of season and unfortunately they're well ran now. They're losing a few loanees but they'll replace them well. Cooper is clearly a competent manager too

No shit, after reading your comment i thought i'd make a comparison, not one mention of playing Leicester next season, let alone a complete thread. There does seem to be a a bit of an insecurity problem.

Forest having their parade at 1pm on a work day?

Their PR machine would have us believe the whole city works in TV, digital media, artisan cheese shops and biotech. So these sorts have the freedom.

Nobody there works at Sainsburys or amazon or sheet metal work fabricators.

Can't wait to see them get battered and sent back where they belong. Half of their first team is on loan, so they'll either return to their parent clubs or get signed by more established Premier League clubs. They were an average at best Championship side before Cooper came along and that will show next season once the new manager bounce has gone and they're left with a side unprepared for life in the Premier League. I'd even tap up Johnson's agent with an offer he can't refuse to unsettle their best player just because we can. Forest are the new Norwich.

It's a big gap between leagues now, but nobody knows what their starting 11 will look like on that first day yet.

Yeah, difficult to disagree. Their loanees alone will probably cost around £40m plus to make permanent, that's if all want to stay and their clubs want to sell, and that's just to keep the team they've got together before they improve it. Personally think Spence will go to Arsenal or Tottenham and Garner might be included in Man United's 25 man squad. They'll get Zinckernagel and Davies, but that's not enough.

Bournemouth and Fulham are minted, still have parachute payments and have been up for a month already. Bournemouth especially know how to stay up as well.

Then there's the teams around the bottom of the Prem from this season. Everton won't be as toilet again, Southampton just about manage to stay up and Leeds at least have a bit of quality.

There's also the more subjective factor of them just looking very average against better sides. They were very fortunate to win at Fulham after they'd already been promoted, were second best by a distance at Bournemouth, outplayed by Sheffield United in their own backyard and ridiculously fortunate at Wembley against a very middling Huddersfield side.

In the Premier League, I'd go as far as to say that anyone above Brentford, provided they actually turn up unlike us and Arsenal in the Cup, beats them with something to spare. That defence against Manchester City or Liverpool on full chat gets absolutely minced.

Honestly think they'll need to spend most of the £170m they apparently get for promotion just to stay up, let alone overtake Leicester.

I hate him. He's a good manager and seems like a decent guy, but he has performed a miracle there and turned them from somewhat of a laughing stock into a serious outfit. In eight months he's done something which many before him have tried and failed to do in over 20 years.
