Just start the one that has the ability to jump and collect the ball in the box from a corner.

Both will know they have big boots (gloves?) to fill, and that pressure is likely to lead to an eagerness to impress, which never tends to go too well with goalkeepers.

It'd be peak Foxestalk to spend the last couple of years saying Schmeichel was (somehow) not good enough but to jump on Ward/Iversen as soon as they make their first high profile clanger.

I think if ward is fit he'll go with Ward as Brendan has said many times we have 2 number 1s with Kasper.

 

It would seem strange if he didn't back his own judgement.

 

However I thibk Iversen is the future. It's just a question of when he gers his big chance.

I get the feeling if it is made clear to him that Ward is number 1 and all he is going to get is cup games that he may well look to leave

TBH, I think Ward deserves a shot at first team play if he's healthy.  But the bottom line is. there's no cardinal rule that you have to use the same keeper in every league game.  I'd like to see both Iverson and Ward get playing time this season, with whoever is performing at a higher level getting the bulk of league starts in the second half of the season.

I’ve never seen iversen play, but ward is gash.. so iversen.

Ward has had a number of injury problems last season, could well be a volatile season here for goalkeepers.

I like Ward, Iverswn I've only seen bits qhwn on loan and he's esrnt his shot too. So really can't call it.

Imo BR will go with ward that's if he is fit ,and he deserves his chance  has played second to kasper since he has been at the club ,

I have a feeling Iversen knows it is up for grabs, especially given Ward's recent injury issues. 

 

It also gives Rodgers some flexibility-- dropping Kasper was nearly impossible, but this season at least it means no one can coast at the position.

This is a really weird quote.

I don't get how Ward deserves it more than Iversen just because he's been back up since he arrived. Iversen probably deserves it more having had to go out and perform to the standard he has for a number of years to even be considered.
