...he probably is in talks with the club, Watford may have put in an offer which does not match our valuation!!!

Didn’t realise Evans was from Bangladesh.

The club literally states on the official site that they’ve extended his contract by a year.

Choudhury has had a contact extension option taken up. Evans contract ends this month.

I think @Silebyfox_89 was talking about Jonny Evans.

Not sure why @sacreblueits442 has mentioned Choudhry

...totally confused with this, I then went back to the post that I quoted!!!

You got a source? Everything I can see says he signed a 4 year deal in 2019 and that it runs until 2023

it still amazes me that we have even bothered to negotiate with him, given what has happened but that just about sums the state of our club up at this moment in time.

I think I agree that Evans shouldn't be close to the first team (never mind that fact that he can probably only manage 10-20 games), but I can see why the club are at least considering him. He's a senior CB, and if we can sign him on a deal that suits us then why not? Otherwise we've got to go and sign 2 more CBs

Interesting quote from Michael O'Neill

"He is very disappointed for them to go down and he is in a situation where he is out of contract as well.

"I am sure if he is playing his football elsewhere next season he would have liked to have left Leicester in a slightly different way but he was just unfortunate this season.

"I think by his own admission, he probably pushed very hard to get back because I think he does make a difference to Leicester's team. I think you saw that in the final three games that he was fit to play in."

He’s off hardly surprising.

Thought it sounded a bit more ambiguous.

Of course it's ambiguous. He's out of contract, but in discussions with the club. It could go either way.

I'd be interested to see how this pans out. If fit and playing he's worth a decent contract. As he will absolutely make a big difference in the championship. But his fitness & age is a big 'if'. Not sure how he would imagine any club would give him a affluent or longer contract. He could be a Bertrand MK2.

Sorting his contract out seems simple to me, pay him per minute of matchplay? Could do that with every player. Never again will players be 'happy' to sit on the bench.

So far in the last two weeks, we've found out more about incomings and outgoings at the club from the ****ing Northern Ireland manager than we have from our own side!!!!

Hence my point that it's an interesting quote. It isn't a foregone conclusion that he's out the door yet.

That presumably is just a list of the out of contract players, we've offered Evans a new one.
