Probably hoping that he resigns rather than sacking him, I think it’s down to money probably?

If Rodgers wants to be sacked and the board wants him to resign and the two sides are involved in a game of brinkmanship, there are bleak times ahead…

Yes indeed! I don’t think all is rosey behind the scenes but who knows right? But recent comments from Rodgers I think would have annoyed the board, and maybe they are putting their foot down with Rodgers this summer in terms of transfers because of last season. I don’t think Rodgers will last the season.

It does make sense. If he believed and accepted the stated reasons for no transfer activity, surely he’d just get on with things and try to make the best of it. But his bizarre game management yesterday felt like a pointed statement - ie, he doesn’t really believe the club’s hands are tied re: transfers and is determined to show them the consequences.

But if the club no longer trusts him with transfers, why is he still here?

...his contract...!!!

Do you think Rudkin’s position is under threat/scrutiny

It should be.    Rogers appears to passing the buck and if Rudkin does same too, then who is going to be scapegoat?   Filbert? The Tea lady at Seagrave?    King Power entrust people to run the Club and do not mean run it into the ground.

The in/out recruitment mess needs sorting out first and foremost, something needs to give on that.  My only hope is the Recruitment Team do have players lined up and that there could be some movement once some of the dead trees are felled.

...what does seem strange, was Kasper's run of games was curtailed out of the blue and Ward was brought in!!!

The next game Kasper was back, that came across as Rodgers attempt to assert himself  and no doubt accelerated Kasper going out the door.

After all his time here you would have thought there would have been an announcement prior to the end of the season that he was going, he could have had a proper send off in our last home game.

Yes, It was a little strange. Could it be that Kasper staying rooted to his line and being found out by the opposition had something to do with it, given the number of set piece goals we conceeded.

Or maybe they clashed over something and if so there's only going to be one winner.

Or maybe Kasper just fancied a change of scenery after 11 years here. I guess we'll never know the truth.

I do think change was needed though and now we have tow Goalkeepers with something to prove. Not a bad place to be. It will be interesting to see them battle it out for number 1.

The back three were wrong for me , I would play Soyuncu on the right , Fofana in the middle and Evans on the left. Jonny plays there better than any of our other CBs. Caglar still shades Dan for me and we need him to recover his form.

Apologies if it's been mentioned before ...

But i thought the ref yesterday was superb.  I didn't recognise him, which is usually a good start.

He let the game flow, didn't blow his whistle everytime a tackle was made, and wasn't taken in by the usual "oh ref, i'm in agony, my leg's dropped off".

...listening to Radio Leicester  yesterday they played his interview again, where Rodgers said he only got to know about the ffp situation recently!!!

I wonder if he(Rodgers)  perceives that statement to be a means of withholding funds to prevent him from being able to bring players in. If that is his take of the situation,  this could explain his decisions  in the game as a pushback to the club and Top.

The club would no doubt be content to push the narrative as it prevents any further poor acquisitions or exacerbation of the situation if they have to terminate his contract.

I recall being frustrated by Rodgers' subbing of KDH in a game towards the end of last season. Frustrated because his bizarre substitution pattern invariably weakens the team - I'm certainly not surprised at his exchanges - that reaction ceased a long time ago. Given that he's already declared that he doesn't want to "go to war with the club" (a clear declaration of hostilities) and that he intended to revitalise the squad, yesterday's withdrawal of KDH could be viewed as sabotaging the probability of a win.

For what purpose? To demonstrate his ability to f**k things up if he doesn't get his own way. It should be clear to his most ardent apologists, by now, that his loyalty is solely to himself. Can City afford to dismiss him? Whatever it costs it's necessary. The squad still has potential and the infrastructure of the club is enviable. City could still attract a manager with high ambitions. But no egoists please.

Strange season this with World Cup break. Maybe club will wait until break before getting rid. Wouldn't be surprised to see Top put club up for sale-who needs this hassle, and perhaps get new owners to bring in new manager (at their cost.)

Good job we didn't lose lol - what then - ground demolished for a car park? Forced deportation to Rwanda for squad and management?

Yeah I noticed this. They said on the 5 Live coverage of the West Ham game that this is a deliberate attempt to let the games flow more, which is great.

“I did think about it (making more substitutions). Looking at the game, and looking at how it was, and when they scored, it was really a case that our back-line was in control for most of the game. With them putting the extra bodies up front, we stay on that and keep the numbers there.

“Wilf is very important for us defensively, he could have been crisper and clearer with the ball today but defensively he is important for us. Youri and James are experienced now and you are hoping they can manage the game while having that threat up front. I did think about it, but I left it as it was.”

Isn’t there new guidance to let the game flow when there’s contact in some situations?

Obviously there is an issue with cags

perhaps he’s carrying a strain ?

more likely we want him to go (as we will get some money for him as opposed to amartey)  and he’s happy to sit out the season and get his big pay day next summer

He won’t be on the bench for long if Amartey plays like that. That display alone should be enough for Cags to come back in.

That’s exactly what I thought Frank new his side were tiring he replaced half the team with fresh legs & they got the equaliser, our lads looked knackered Maddison going for one of the corners looked spent it was incompetence leaving the 9 outplaying team when he could have changed 5 of them for fresh legs Vardy was nowhere near the vardy we all know & love others were just looking completely knackered looking at the bench at times ?

So if there is something going on behind the scenes where they don’t trust him to bring in new players then what the hell is going on and is Brendan going to keep making incompetent decisions and blaming everyone else but himself, I’ve always been a Rodgers in but after the Brentford game he’s slowly losing my faith in him?

Heard a couple of chaps talking by me in C1 saying to each other is he making these decisions to get sacked so he can walk away with a nice pay day I can’t see he’s doing that but it’s frustrating when the fans can see the problem in the team but Brendan can’t ?

Anything but Dan on the left. He has to play on the right of a back 3 if he's going to play. Evans can play on the left of a 3 but his lack of pace will be exposed by through balls in between him and our wingback. Fofana would probably do a better job than any of them on the left for now

I’ve played Saturday and Sunday league footie with some real moron managers who have shown more tactical awareness than Rodgers. I just don’t see how he can be THAT stupid if I’m honest. It was obvious. He could have taken his lead from the opposition if he really is so dumb.

What he did to Kasper was calculated and showed the exact opposite of strength. It was petulant and pointless dropping him for the record of consecutive appearances. That sort of shit resonates in the squad. Our most successful ever keeper just basically shuffled out the door under a blanket. Madness.

Rodgers literally gave control to Brentford and did nothing to stop it. We could ALL see the players were flagging and that Brentford’s injection of 5 subs handed them a physical advantage. You’re paid £9 million a year to be ahead of that, to know how to react.

Seems to me he is just kicking his heels waiting to be sacked. If Fofana goes I think that says a lot. I hope he doesn’t, but we will get nowhere with the little fraud in control.

On the back three - as it stands the squad is really set up for a back four - which is after all BR’s preferred formation. You have Evans and Forfana as first choices with Amartey back up for Wes and Vestergaard and Soyuncu back up for Evans. The problem when you move to three is that the two outside centre backs need to be highly mobile. You can’t really play Evans as LCB he has to be in the middle organising things. Wes is a natural for RCB, and Amartey is  a reasonable backup match but at LCB it has to be Soyuncu or Amartey not playing on his natural side. What surprised me is that he close the latter rather than the former.

We somehow need to get a decent winger in ASAP, even on loan. If we have to play 3511 for long we are going to be in the bottom 6 at best at the end of the season. We simply don't have the first clue how to play it effectively. For the most part it ends up neutering our best attacking players and we look wobbly as hell defensively.

.. Soyuncu for whatever reason is poor in a three!!!

It is either about positioning or ability to read the game from a new perspective, either way he struggles. So we take the gamble of playing him (Soyuncu) in a position that he is not comfortable playing or bring in a 4th choice defender and play him out of position.

Soyuncu seemed lost last season without Evans by his side. Evans is back now, so feel Soyuncu's performance could well be that of a couple of seasons ago.

Regarding Rodgers; I'm not a conspiracist but the suggestions that others have made to explain his use (lack) of substitutes does seem to fit the narrative.

😩

It's often a myth that we dominate as many games as Rodgers, the media and some of our fans claim. Possession is not tantamount to dominance in a sport that is judged on goals.

...a car park would be a no go, King Power has turned a £27m acquisition into a £460m+ asset!!!
