Oh no not fookin Amartey again!

It is truly and utterly ridiculous that he is being picked over Cags. Rodgers has to be deliberating sabotaging us.

Amartey over Cags is baffling unless we expect him to leave this week. Even then it's a bit strange given our lack of CBs. He's much more capable than Amartey.

What's up with madison? He picked up a little niggle that'll keep him out for 6 months?

He's gone for some warm weather training in Saudi Arabia

I still fail to understand what Ward has done wrong this season other than his one mistake against Arsenal (the same game he made a handful of outstanding saves to keep the scoreline somewhat respectable).

It'd be properly daft if we dropped Ward for Iversen off the back of a decent cup performance and then drop Iversen the second Ward does something in the cup. Only mounts unnecessary pressure on both of them

Iversen should have started the season as first choice. He did really well in the Championship last season, playing week in week, week out. Ward has played so little first team football at any level over the past 5 years.

Chelsea will run riot today. That line up inspires zero confidence. Will be amazed if we don't concede within the first 15

Don't mind that tbh.  It's something a bit different and god knows we need aomething different.

Ward was always going to be given at least the first 6 games once he was given the number 1 shirt.

Soyuncu is clearly not happy and Brendan perhaps doesn't want to play him for some behind-the-scenes reason.

Glad to see Praet gets a run.  Not sure RW is his best position.  Ndidi has regressed lately so why not give Soumare a chance?

It's very much a squad game, subs will be key.  Flood the midfield for 60 minutes and then have options like Iheanacho and Daka if we need a goal and Ndidi and Mendy if we need to shut them out.

I'm Brendan out and have been for a while, but good to see a change in approach and trying something different.

I wouldn't assume it's a straight 'Soumare for Ndidi' swap. I'm assuming 2 at cdm but maybe even switching that up. A fluid 4-2-3-1 if you like. The key to this working, for me, is how that midfield works together, making sure space is closed down and runners tracked.
