I'll give rare credit to Rodgers, at least he's rolling the dice and trying something different.  As bad as things are at the moment that's not a bad thing.  Praet and Soumare will certainly be motivated to make an impression for the next manager.

I like the potential of Soumare but he's not a destructive holding midfielder. I'd have rather seen him and Ndidi with Tielemans on the bench plus Soyuncu for Armarty next to Evans.

Soumare goes from not being in the squad for the first 3 games to starting against Chelsea away. No wonder his confidence is shot.

So soumare cant make the bench for 4 games then is deemed good to start this match in a position where he's struggled before. Interesting stuff. 

 

Would have had mendy in the team, at least he keeps the ball well despite having the strength of a young child.
