to be fair they are welcome to him.

I know a lot of people don't like BR but i think the vast majority agree he did the right thing with Fofana.

I'm surprised by that statement and it just shows his immaturity. He has a lot of learning to do and having that price tag he is going to have to grow up quickly.

He made it very clear he wanted out and even refused to play which weakened our position when negotiating the fee.

Or maybe it didn't. Maybe it was accepted by the club who also didn't want to risk the transfer. We only hear it from the club's side and they obviously want to save face and placate a bit. But it's a bit naïve to think the club didn't want this deal done now too.

if that was the case he would have said in that statement, it's not like he was holding back.

Little ****, hope he has a chelsea career like Drinkwater

Nah, this guy is actually good.

It is just a pity we didn’t get to see one full season with him. We may even be in Europe if he didn’t break his leg and he ended up playing instead of us buying Vesty.

I agree. The term 'protect the institution' is very telling. Fofana the fall guy, club spins it to play victim

You know you're disliked when we start applauding Demarai Gray's social media activity.

He better be on top of his game because his behaviour at St Etienne and here will make a fair few wary in future.

He wanted out, we got a decent transfer profit - best of luck to him.  I wish he hadn't downed tools as that does lack class but overall decent business - we've presumably pre-planned additions (if any) already so lets just get on with it.

He literally says this in the third paragraph of his 'statement'...

Ornstein saying final fee £69.5 with no add-ons!

Chelsea have their journo bitches and we have ours …..

fwiw, if they paid it all up front then we saved a few million in interest charges over the next few years
