Fairly sure it was a Saturday as I was working.

The funeral that is, the death was in the early hours of Sunday

Just looked it up no clash on the funeral as it was international break. Championship, L1 and L2 moved games to the Sunday

But does the 10 days include the day after the funeral?

No. - from what I read, it ten days of mourning and then the funeral

I would doubt they would have a funeral ‘on the sabbath’

Agreed. Particularly given her role in relation to the Church of England.

I’m not from a country with monarchs so this is all strange to me.

But it is your league so respect whatever you all decide.

Looks like it will be called off

Why can’t there just be black armbands and a respectful silence? Like many fans I have non-refundable train tickets booked. £50 down the toilet.

We love a bit of mourning in this country. Probably the only thing we're good for these days.

We should be celebrating her life this weekend. She's been great and lived a lot longer than most.

Don't hold your tongue, it's all utterly ridiculous and antiquated

Why postpone games? Like, literally, what is the actual point? Next week would be weird enough but this weekend? Just gesturing isn't it really? Are people actually just wanting to sit in at home crying with family? And if so, do they also want everyone else doing the same?

If anyone is sitting at home crying about this then they need to see a psychiatrist

I can understand your sentiments if you have no standards or respect. If we have no standards or respect, we are just animals.

I also think that it brings a lot of people together to play the games , and they can show the respect to the queen with a minute’s silence, not sure who said this but it is true ,

life goes on ?????

the queen will he missed she was a get lady may she Rest In Peace

I’m not from a Commonwealth country, and not a monarchist.  Irrespective of Queen Elizabeth herself, it seems odd to me to have everyone’s lives simply stop for 10 days for mourning.  People can mourn and function at the same time, can’t they?  She had a damn good innings - 96 years and the longest reign in British history.  Surely with something like football there can be armbands and respectful tributes as the matches go on.

I say all this knowing this weekend’s fixtures will be cancelled, and probably next too.  Nothing about the monarchy makes any sense so why should this be any different…
