But what about if it's heading for the inside of the woodwork, for example? And how far from the goal line do we say is too far to judge whether it was a certain goal?

 

I do sort of agree with what you say, but it's a relatively infrequent scenario to require a whole new layer of legislation. Does the Cardiff player do that 10 minutes into a standard league match, rather than with 10 minutes to go in a knockout game? Probably not, I reckon.

Kid did a Suarez and took one for the team.

can’t fault him really. Can’t see Cardiff winning the return leg of this sadly.
