We weren't shocking away in the last one.

Very true, and it was a day I thoroughly enjoyed, but there is a difference between playing Wolves and playing Everton.

They're both as crap as each other.

Would love to see us be brave in this, Everton are a decent counter attacking side but we should have the players to really dominate the ball and create chances.

                      Ward

Castagne Amartey Faes Justin

                      Ndidi

              Youri        Madders

  Praet                             Barnes

                      Daka

Get Youri and Madders really dictating play in their half, Wilf almost as a 3rd CB when we have possession.

I'm worried with all the praise Rodgers has been getting for the performance on Saturday he's going to go with 5 at the back against these as well and play in a similar way.

We need to stick it on these from the off. Lampard really isn't a good manager and Everton really aren't a good team. It's about time the Leicester players and manager grew a pair and imposed themselves on a game. This is the perfect game to do it and the perfect circumstances as we need a good result before the world cup to let the confidence of escaping relegation build.

This is a staple of his management, the diamond that tore a suicidally high up Villa side in wasn't the best fit against Norwich who'd approach the game differently. We drew 1-1.

541 is too negative given the players we have at our disposal, 3 at the back vs Everton would be a mistake.

If he goes 5 at the back against Everton he's obviously had another WBA like meltdown as we scored too many goals instead of possession/control at Wolves.

This is a tricky one. Gray, Iwobi and Gordon don't track back. Mykolenko is decent as their LB. Coleman is a liability at RB. We need to get Mykolenko busy with Castagne and Praet runs on the right while Maddison is free roaming as a 10. Keep them guessing while feeding both sides equally, if they want to bring more help for Mykolenko we change play quickly to Barnes against Coleman.

He won't do, if he does then he will deserve all the criticism that comes his way and those who still defend him even after all he's contributed to our demise this season will once again be complicit in what's happening.

@Matt raises a good point that at some point the Brendan 65% possession and craving for control will return but I don't see it happening for a while.

He will go with the exact same system and similar personnel as vs Wolves with possibly KDH rested for Praet and Ndidi for Soumare which I think is what I'd go with anyway.

I think people are underestimating Everton. This is not 2019 or 2020  when we were clearly vastly superior. This season they've been very tight at the back and have improved their central midfield, which was awful in the previous few seasons. Also, we are nowhere near as strong or settled as we were back then. This will be a very close and tough game, I think.

We're not underestimating them, their midfield is stronger than past years but Onana and Gueye can be shut down with Ndidi, Tielemans and Praet.

He'll be blind from the praise he's had and think that it'll work for a 'tricky' away game. We've been here before when he's started 5 at the back against teams that don't deserve it.

I hope he goes back to the system/team that was used vs Wolves but he has previous for sticking with 5 at the back when he thinks it's worked well in the past and we ended up playing the formation for far longer than needed.

And yep agree with the possession obsession returning too. Once he feels he can get away with it, it'll be back with a bang.

Not True !!

Coady & Tarkowski have really strengthened their defence. They are hard to score against & have some offensive threats.

It will not be a walk in the park.

I might be wrong but 3 at the back is only used by him as a necessity and/or if Ndidi isn't available. I don't see it but he's proven me wrong many a time 😂😂😂

Think it will be a hard-to-break-each-other-down type of game with our new found defensive solidity and Coady organising them well. Despite the flak Pickford gets he's a capable keeper. I can see us edging us a tight game via a late goal as both teams tire

....no need to worry,  Soyuncu will be confined to the bin and we will revert back to 4-3-3!!!

We needed someone to make up the third CB and a crocked Soyuncu was that man.

Lampard is at the start of his career..

Everton are just as good as all of us  ´also rans ´

Keep putting down  & throwing disdain towards the league & other teams becoming tiresome…

70yrs of those who think there was somehow a period of golden seasons to compare…twaddle

Though your last sentence I agree with,it is now the time to push forward,we need

a big confidence push to attack post World Cup..
