We’re going to look drastically different squad wise next season.

We are potentially going to lose Maddison, Tielemans, Amartey, Mendy, Soyuncu, Perez, Evans and Bertrand.

Chances are, the likes of Vestergaard and even Iheanacho might go

We’re no longer near the level

we were at for the first couple of seasons of the Brendan being in charge. How many players do we need of improved ability to just get back to that level?

Bin off most of them and the manager. Could look like early season palace or current day Southampton. It’s a fact we’re in for a bumpy ride

Going to be drastically different. We have brought in the bloke signing all the kids at Southampton. Either going to be amazing or shite

Personal see it as an opportunity.

Out of those list we are really going to miss are Maddison, Tielemans.

I add Evans but he is no good if we can't get him fit and on the pitch.

We need to cut the dead wood.

In some respects wouldn't be sad to see some of them go:

Tielemans doesn't wanna be here, at his best we'll desperately miss him but his performances on a whole are patchy, it also opens up the captaincy to an actual leader and someone who (hopefully) wants to be here. The irony being he think's he's better than us yet he's arguably a factor in our failings.

I like Amartey and Mendy but they're not good enough and need improving anyway. Perez is somewhere in there too.

Evans and Bertrand are done.

Vestergaard was never going to work and the signing was quite bizarre indeed.

Maddison and Soyuncu i'll be sad to see go.

I just hope Rodgers goes with them.

This is the 3rd(?) season in a row that I just want to get finished and see the back of, all players lost need replacing - there lies a problem of which we have to get right and cannot afford to get wrong but hopefully its a reset we desperately need.

The halcyon  days are well and truly over.

I imagine a few seasons ahead like what Everton are enduring.

Our team is bottom tier Premier league/ top championship at best barring Madders.

Tielemans keeps up todays performance, no one will come in for him

His first poor game in a long time tbf. And the rest were as bad as him, if not worse.

He was dire today.

Couldn't pass a ball to save his life.

After the title win we spent 3 or 4 years building a squad with great potential, got an "elite" manager in to realise that potential, won the FA Cup and performed well in the league even if we didn't quite reach the heights we should have.  Whilst Rodgers has been here, we've stopped evolving the squad.  It now feels like this squad (and the manager) has come to the end of the road and we need to embark on another rebuild.  There'll be 6 or 7 players leave and the manager should go too.

Like it or not, mid-table security should be the target for the next couple of seasons.  Get some defensive stability, not necessarily playing fancy football, then start to add some quality.

These things go in cycles, we'll have to brace ourselves for a bumpy ride, but the cycle begins again.

Where did I deny that?

But they were all pathetic.

We're not getting back to that level for the foreseeable future, we're done as a disruptor in the PL.

Our future over the next few seasons is mid table at best but likely as a struggler fighting relegation.

Tielemans will go but he's been way off the standard he set himself for a couple of seasons, Maddison would be mental to sign. We used to have 10 players who would be good enough for top six sides three seasons ago now we have a couple at best.

It's exciting. We've recruited brilliantly over the last 5 years in the main, but recently it had started to get worse. We need a refresh badly, this seasons basically just don't get relegated. We'll have a very different team next year.

If Maddison has any sense whatsoever he’ll be out of this club in a flash.

How do we replace all these players because apparently we have no money.

If we manage to stay up this season, I don't see how we survive next season

That’s exactly my thoughts. We need a lot of players signing in 2 windows and we have no cash. Our record has been hit and miss too. Were in for a couple of horrendous seasons I think.

We are so finely poised between having enough about us to rebuild and continue to be that freak club that wins things or we regress even further and are that freak side that bombs and bombs. We aren't normal.

It's going to be increasingly difficult to recruit to the level we need, everything's slowed down in that regard at the same time as players running their contracts down. Glover needs to be better than he's ever been and we have to ace the next 2-3 transfer windows minimum.

Hand on heart I think we'll not be a PL team inside 30 months.

I genuinely think this too. Can see us reverting to type. I just see a sharp downward trend and no indication that we're going to turn it round. If we don't get relegated this season, I believe we will next season. We're a bit of a mess really.

Team that played today was a mess.

Perez, amartey, never really worthy of a first team spot but now have one.

Barnes has no other winger in the squad, let alone competition.

Vardy a living legend but a season too far

Tielemans lacking quality partners in midfield, but on his way out

Thomas and KDH in due to lack of other options (e.g. Bertrand taking up wages of a PL quality left back)

We used to be good and getting in two or three a season to incrementally build. The squad now needs major surgery, and based on recent track record i am not confident

This might be knee-jerk after today's cluster**** but which department / aspect of the club would you say is effective, or even at the same level it was 3 years ago?

I can't think of a single one.

As long as Brendan goes with them there's a chance to rebuild. If he stays and is given the money to spend then that is all the evidence needed to see that Top hasn't got a bloody clue either and he'll be sold straight down the pan by the bright toothed charlatan. The changes need to start at the top!

I'm just glad we had Puel/Macia for a few seasons. Imagine Rodgers and Congerton being in charge of the post title rebuild lol We'd already be in league one.

I've said it for a while now as well, like you say. The next 2/3 windows are absolutely huge for the mid term future of the club. Such a shame we appear to have wasted a great platform.
